I stopped going to United and boycotted Nike when the Glazers took over. Did it do anything...no.

I wanted other people to do the same so I had to do it.

it depends how you look at it. The 20 series can do stuff the previous gen;s cannot. While it may not be "real world" performance at the moment, the future is probably where they're going to shine. I personally don't see the point in just pushing out more of the same each gen. At some point someone has to take the step of introducing new tech. And that is always naturally going to mean a slow take-up initially.
Top end 10 series were already fast enough for the majority so it's a good time to introduce new tech. Nothing outside of poorly developed games struggle at 1080P or 1440P with a 1080 Ti or even lesser 10 series. Probably 75%+ of 20 series buyers, including me, didn't really need to upgrade, and the same % is probably true about those complaining about the 20 series.
Should the new features help make the GPU's shine then that will negative some of the argument against pricing, especially the Ti which has poor availability anyway.
It'll be good to see how the first RT and DLSS games do as that will help clarify whether NV have released new tech a little too early, especially in the case of RT.
What does back the pricing of the 20 series is that if new games do indeed perform well, there;s probably going to be a mad upgrade rush. People will want to experience RT for themselves if it's a half decent implementation. You're paying say £40 or whatever for a game where a lot of R&D has been spent on RT, why not?

Everyone will have their own take on this and plenty will buy RTx for what Ray-tracing brings to the table but from what I've read it seems we already know that Turing doesn't do Ray-tracing at the level needed for it to add to the game, Adored TV did an interesting video on Ray-tracing, how it's implemented and what to expect when used with Turing, That along with what other sources have said paints a pretty dismal picture. It'll be very interesting to see how a games visuals compare once we can do proper side by side comparisons in games like Metro Exodus. I'm looking forward to seeing what RTX adds visually, I just don't think it can be properly implemented at this time.

I wouldn’t mind if the 2080ti was a titan and the lower cards stayed the same price as last gen but I hate the way they’ve priced the ti as a titan and just dragged all the other prices up behind it.

We desperately need another player in the market.

My only hope is that there aren’t enough people out there who are willing to swallow the ti price to make nVidia think twice for the next gen.

NVidia have twice launched cut down chips and called them Titans (original Kepler and Pascal cards) and could have done exactly the same with the 2080 Ti. Not doing so was actually a mistake as NVidia could have charged another £100 by calling the 2080 Ti the Turing Titan and avoided all the negative comments about pricing.

NVidia do have a 12nm Titan V on the market already and it is slightly faster than a 2080 Ti @2160p but no one wants to pay the £2800 asking price for just gaming.

Even if all the users on tech forums all around the world stopped buying high end NVidia cards it would be hardly noticeable to them in lost sales.

I have seen this for myself in the owner forums where people get their names on the TROH, the total is less than 1% of what Gibbo sells.

Well good luck if you think a few disgruntled forums members is going to change anything at all. It won't change the general consensus of "Nvidia good, AMD bad" that's been around for years. Maybe they've pushed it too far this time and they'll be a market shift but Nvidia can easily just answer with a "budget" card rather than loose those customers. If people want to drop £1000+ on a GPU and think it's good value then they can buy as many as they want for all I care. If you're upset that these people ruin it for you then it's tough **** as the market will simply cater to those willing to pay.

Pretty sure he was just being sarcastic. That said probably less then 1% of ocuk customers go on the ROH but yeah we are not many in the grand scheme.

So I felt recently Nvidia were exllotinexus consumers. 3 years now we are still paying the same for 1080 like performance.
But I really needed the card for production and for apple build.

To be honest I feel the frametimes are better and the graphics quality is better on screen. Sounds bizzare, but I literally turn of the fps counter and enjoy the games. I don't regret selling the 1080ti atall.

Aside from not having a 1080ti I'm in the same boat.
I'm getting the ultrawide LG 950F when it's available here and expect to play my current games and the next year's or so games at max details with my Vega 64 LC. I've played on a friend's 2080Ti and frankly without an FPS counter it's hard to tell the difference.

Coupled with better software and better open source support i so no reason to change for a long time to come.

The 2080ti followed the 35% performance increase we saw in the 1080 to 1080ti...

However the 2080ti costs £700 more for this 35%

May I add that the 2080ti can’t even pull 60/1080 with RT enabled...

We only have ourselves to blame for the high prices, as ive said before, the customer is always right, and we the customers, want the high prices, we wouldn't buy them if we didn't would we, so why should Nvidia not give us what we want, they'd be mad not to.

OP as a good point. You just seem to be attacking him. Just so you can rock up in here with your 2080ti shoes and tell him how much of a baby he is, as he's not so great at life as you are.

Fair play to you for spending £1500 on your TI without a second thought. No need to attack the guy though. He's just a normal chap on a normal wage who's used to spending £300-£400 for a very good GPU, I bet.

I agree its peoples money do what you want with it, but NVIDIA are mugging people off especially with news coming out these TI's are dieing already.

Its like apple fanboism in the GPU section of late. Everyone as lost there minds.
