Latest Gillette ad suggests their customers are broken, toxic and need "fixing" through feminism

I can't believe the amount of debate here; this is a company who used the exploitation of men & women as sex objects in order to sell razor blades - they literally played to every male macho stereotype there is. This campaign isn't some attempt to prompt debate or change the world, this new direction is purely driven by the fact that they can't market their product the way they used to.

In other news, Keith Lemon has stopped telling female guests on his show that he wants to smash their back doors in.

Probably. Which is a shame because that's a lot of women's ideal date. From that perspective, it's quite a nice message to boys. Better than the reinvention of Original Sin doctrine that is being pushed on males right now.

Not so. Erections can be forced through physical stimulation whether wanted or not. It's a biological reaction same as vaginal and clitoral stimulation in women. One of the most confusing and difficult things for rape victims is coming to terms with the fact they may have received sexual pleasure or even climaxed from the rape. It leads a lot of women to doubt themselves, to question if on some level they wanted it. It's one of the least talked about aspects of rape and because it's least talked about, a lot of women don't understand how their body 'betrayed them' and feel deep, deep shame about it. Men also can be forced to climax against their will. A rarer circumstance I imagine, but still confusing and difficult. Especially if they have to share what happened with a partner.

Of course it is.
Legally it's not. It would be sexual assault. The sentence for sexual assault can be as severe as it can be for rape. Rape is a very specific form of sexual assault. Really rape could be removed and could be caught under sexual assault in the same way the woman-on-man scenario you describe would be. But could you imagine the harpies shrieking if they did that?
 
There certainly is some irony in a company pedling products at men with product names like 'turbo', 'mach' , 'fusion and 'vector' who also have a finger wagging video produced for them telling men to effectively grow up and act responsibly!

Exactly, and don't forget if you use their product you'll get all the hot chicks, because that's what women want. Just the hot one's mind, the munters don't get a mention - Gillette is not for munters.
 
The only thing that annoys me a tad is the implication that this is somehow normal or common behaviour for men. I'm sure a huge majority of men would be ousted from any kind of social group if they were to engage in genuinely inappropriate behaviour towards women, let their kids genuinely bully or antagonise another child without stepping in. As usual these things lack any kind of nuance. But then it is an ad so I'm not really expecting any.

I'm not sure why a company who specialises in razors even feels the need to get involved in some societal issues displayed by a tiny minority, it's quite clear looking at the previous work of the person who created the ad, what their agenda is.

That actually makes a lot of sense and may be why many rapes seem to go unreported.

They have everyone talking about their brand right now.

Nike apparently made $6 billion from virtue signalling with colin kapernik.
 
Nike's target markets (younger people) might be less sensitive to this sort of shenanigans then Gillette's for the part of razor business concerned (adults males of all ages)

I for one am seriously considering dropping Gillette for my shaving needs.

I haven't bought any of Nike's rather pricey wares (often produced in third world sweat shops) for some years.

Gillette actions are more akin to Ea with BF V... I. E insulting your core audience.

And ea haven't been doing well of late (the degree to which the above was relevant not withstanding)

Dont forget the women's branding which is all about Venus a Roman goddess, whose functions encompassed love, beauty, desire, sex, fertility!

It's against the law in the UK to pay different wages for the same jobs because of gender.
