Great White Shark... friendly?!

This plus it was in the area stuffing it's face on a whale carcass, look how fat it is in the side-by-side shot. Very unlikely to be eyeing up the divers as potential meals.

Think the article mentions she's likely pregnant which is why she's so wide.

Most shark species never eye up humans for prey. Most attacks are mistaken identity in poor visibility water, turbulent surf etc, and surfers that look like seals as they paddle out etc.

In calm, clear open women sharks are rarely of any concern, unless they are in the midst of a feeding frenzy. When they cruise through the ocean they are conserving energy and really don;t care about huamns.

That thing is huge! I keep expecting Jason Stratham to leap out and stab it with a knife.

But if you think sharks can be friendly, that's nothing to how friendly dolphins can be...

EDIT: I wish they'd titled the video something else - it's perfectly harmless.

It’s like if you’re diving in a swimming pool and you see a biscuit floating about. You’ll probably be curious and swim to it as you don’t often see a biscuit in a swimming pool. When you get there you see it’s a custard cream. You might not be hungry or might not like custard creams, so you just carry on swimming around, but if you did like custard creams, you’d grab it and eat without even thinking about it. Know what I mean?........

I think I need to go to bed.

I imagine it's like if a sandwich came up to you that was the size of your arm. I mean, you might like sandwiches and you could eat it; but if it's bigger than your head and floating around and touching you, are you going to?

Or perhaps it's just the wetsuits. I mean, it could be the tastiest biscuit in the world but if it's wrapped in a heavy-duty condom are you going to put it in your mouth?

She's a free diver who has swam with sharks plenty of times before, quite easy on the eye too! (being able to hold her breath for longer and not fall about on the surface like an injured seal or something helps at lot here too)

Part of the goal is raising awareness and conservation, he's not just being reckless for the sake of it.

It's sad that the majority of people believe Hollywood where sharks will always eat people, scorpions will always sting and kill you, spiders will bite and kill you and a 6 foot python can kill you.

I remember a story in the Daily Mail once about a boy who had been killed by a rattlesnake when he stepped on it in his garden. One of the highest rated comments was simply “all snakes are dangerous and should be killed”. Cannot fathom the stupidity.

Another story about an 8ft boa that was found in a park. Once again “kill it, it’s dangerous”. Idiots. Shouldn’t be allowed to breed if this is the level of respect for these magnificent animals that they instill in their offspring.
