A GP in the Philippines anyone?

Link.

Formula One has applied for a trademark to the name ‘Philippine Grand Prix’ in a move which could see it host its first-ever race in the Southeast Asian country.

It is the first time that the Philippines has ever been publicly linked with an F1 race and it comes at a time when the country is making a major push into motorsport by building a track outside its capital city Manila.

Alonso was showing his class in the rain too. He pretty much lapped all the DPi field in an hour until the race directors chickened out and threw a needless lengthy caution for the wet track.

*Edit*

Aaaaand now red flagged. What a waste of time.

Rolling again now, but I have to say, if they go to green it won't be for long.

I wouldn't want to be in one of those things right now.

Edit: lights out on the safety car.

All class leaders spinning off. Nasr going to challenge Nando again no doubt, he was puling away. Looks like it possibly could be finishing soon with worse weather incoming.

These conditions are horrendous! I would have expected it to end shortly after the Vilander crash, where he was totally blinded by the spray. Awesome skill by these to keep the cars pointing in the right direction, nevermind race one another.

edit: There is the red flag.

Eh? He quoted a post about a GP in the Philippines and compared it to the security issues teams face in Brazil. He didn't say anything about Daytona.

Aaaaanyway, one of the best races of the year this weekend - Bathurst 12hr. Hopefully the end is a bit better than last year's.
