Apex Legends BR

Didn't bother with this game, although I really enjoyed it and wanted to get into it I couldn't contend with the constant crashes. I played myabe 20-30 games, only about 2-3 of those were played to completion. I was constantly getting apex dll crash error so just moved on and went back to quake live/planetside 2.

Funny thing is how everyone was lauding the game for being amazing and so polished out of the gate, yet it was the most unstable piece of **** I've ever played.

Unlucky, I was lucky and to this day not had one crash, what I will say is there has been games that have come out that have been seriously broken and worse state than this

I've not really had any issues with mine. Its been really quite stable so far for me.

Quite like the new addition of being able to re-invite your last set of teammates to the next game. I've always played random ( billy nae mates here) and there has been a few times where I've been with a decent team, and wanted to play again... so this works well.

Jesus man, don’t play on your own with randoms. You’ll end up cutting yourself or going on a murderous rampage irl!! Get on the discord (unofficial OcUK), you’ll find plenty of folk on their to play with.

Might even change my name to "justSomeRandomGuy" !!!!

To be fair, I only dip into it for a couple of games here and there. I dont have a headphone mic yet, and when discord has folk in it, its normally the same time as when the wee lad is running about the house in the evening ... I dont really want him seeing it playing, cause he would wander in.

Came into this thread to see if there are ppl to play with rather than randos. Looks like the discord channel is the way to go eh?
aye.

starting to doubt the chances of this game having any kind of serious longevity unless they devs address the randomness of the hitreg. it should never ever in any game require the player to reload a 6 round shotgun while fighting a single enemy and having landed every one of those first 6 shots. that's ok if you're designing a single player game for 4 year olds and you specifically want a lot of 'sponginess' so a toddler can have some fun but not in a competitive fps multiplayer. weirdly the game is still kind of fun even if it is, at it's core an awful mess of a game.

Video please.

I'm not saying the hitreg is perfect.

video please? nope, this ain't GD.....go and look up some yourself.. it's been well discussed by far more knowledgeable people than me and by others in here already. i don't think i've streamed any or at least much apex so can't link you to my own personal experiences. however i have spectated a team mate empty 2 mags of R99(iirc) with about 90% of the shots showing 'numbers ping' as they hit and the enemy not going down and i've seen this more than once. i'm not going to trawl through their twitch vids to find it though just to satisfy some name on an internet forum who doesn't believe me or the multitude of others saying the same.

I've seen it. But I wouldn't say it's as common as people make out. The same as when people say the game is "filled" with cheaters.

160 hrs and I've had 2 cheaters.

Hitreg is an issue. Someone posted a comparison. But its not a "x6 shot to the body every time I shoot" bad. If it happens it must be rare because I've never had it that bad.

Longevity? Come on now. Just look at the mess pubg and that's still going :p

Edit: the numbers ping thing has also been discussed. Theres an option to show cumulative vs not.

so if you knew what i was talking about why ask for a video?! you're sodding lucky i didn't go humping through my mates hours of twitch vids to find it - i'd have been posting summat through your letter box!! :p

of course it doesn't happen in every instance of combat, no one would ever play it if that was the case. i also never claimed it was every time. if you've had 160hrs of game play then i'm afraid i don't believe you haven't encountered it as badly as i and others have or at least have seen. you may not have twigged it, or realised it (someone could have swooped in and got the down/kill)

irrelevant. in each instance that i saw there were enough 'numbers' appear to indicate that the enemy had been hit more than enough times to die.

apex already requires more shots per kill, the TTK (even without the hitreg/netcode issues) is stupid long. when you then also add in hitreg/netcode guff, killing people in the game eventually stops being fun (should killing ever be fun?!!) pubg had and still has hitreg/netcode issues but some of them are 'mitigated' slightly by the fact it doesn't take so many shots to kill. other thing to remember about pubg is that it came out when BR games were fairly under-represented and people fell in love with it. as such they forgave it a myriad of faults and even continue to do so - go check the pubg thread, there's still people trying to deny the level of cheating and bugs in the game. people were desperate at the time it came out, it was fresh, new, almost innovative. so it quickly and easily formed a very solid and stable fanbase. subsequent games won't and don't have that benefit. they need to almost hit the ground running. RoE for example, is an excellent game, with a very similar feel to apex (gadgets, non hardcore TTK) yet while it was very popular on release (proper steam release) it's fallen into the background because it had flaws and bugs on release. my guess is people aren't prepared to be so patient with follow up BR games like they were/are with pubg

i may well be wrong and the game will have legs to run, but if it stays in it's current form it will only be diehards/fanboys playing it imo

the game is fun, as i already said but it's a pick up and play for half an hour at a time type game, for me anyway. a bit like fortnite in that it seems to be aiming itself at the younger end of the market.
flashy abilities (some bordering on pointless) - Check
gimmicky characters and gadgets - Check (e.g. i've had some awesome fun playing with the deployable jump pad but i have yet to see it actually being used for anything other than fannying about on)
silly stupid TTK (even without the hitreg/netcode issues) - Check

what i will say though is outside of the odd crash it runs buttery smooth but then both Titanfalls did too (and were far superior in every way)

smells to me that titanfall devs were working on TitanFall 3 when they were ordered to bin that plan and get a BR game out the door. just feels like a rushed, badly finished game to me. and yet......it's a bit of fun to play now and again - maybe i just like hurting myself! :p

Just my experience. Fair comments. You're initial post came across as if the issues were very common. But then I know friends who crash all the time and I've only had one.

I personally have had more issues with stuttering and I've ruled out things on my end. Some days its silky other days no so.

When it runs great no other BR comes close to it. I tried going back to pubg and was painful.

Just had a game where my team landed and downed within a minute or two. I killed the opposing team solo, grabbed both their banners and fought my way to the respawn point. Spawned them and then BLAM, was taken out by someone I couldn't see using a Triple Take (I think). Then guess what happened, my two recently respawned teammates looted my box and just ****** off.

You do realise you can only respawn at a point 1 time ? So if you've already used it or an enemy team have used it, you need to go find a new respawn point

Yes, but the **** just ****** off and didn't even bother attempting to respawn me at the next available respawn point, they just ran around with my banner until they died.

Some of the heroes really need a balance out. Gibraltar is 100 percent useless and his massive hit box isn't redeemed by any of his abilities. Hate playing him for the daily first kill exp. Takes me about 5 games to get 1 kill with him as he is an early game bullet magnet.
