I see these dying:
Brienne
Jorah
Greyworm
Beric
Theon
Gendry

Going to be watching this one live, can barely contain my hype.

Well, 50% ain't bad!

I'm still in absolute shock, my brain needs to sleep to process this all, holy ****.

Was incredible up until the NK part at the end. 9 years of build up for a character that dies in a dumb way like that. Terrible writing there.

The show has been cut short. Didn't think that was much of a secret? Three episodes left now to resolve the aftermath of that battle, and the fight for the Iron Throne. Nothing is going to get the time it deserves.

It's not the time constraints I'm talking about, but rather the actual death itself. It was just a crap death for someone that had been hyped up for so many years. :o

I cant second this enough. Not just the night king either, his little possy too. In 8 seasons literally all they have done is take an infant child and hand Nk a spear. If this truly is the end of the whole whites thing I'm dissapointed to say the least.

Well that was the minimal they could have done... sigh, though I guess they probably thought some deus ex machina from other parts of the plot would be seen just as badly, so may aswell just use a character that isn’t Jon (for flare and misdirection, even if it was heavily hinted at up to the knifing).

I honestly thought at the very end the priestess was going to do some funky fire god magic, rather than what it was going to be.

To be fair they at least made sure the night king never spoke, as much as I wanted some final exposition, it’s probably better that it stay a mystery.

His wight troops however, utterly useless. Were they only there as boosters for his power and initial build up of dead? Seems the only explanation to me.

Anyway, i feel ending this storyline was premature making the rest of it rather mundane to me. Really should have blended them both together, as to me it just seems really dumb that the night king would be so affixed to bran when he could have waited until winter hit further south. I mean seriously he spent thousands of years building up his power to suddenly getting impatient? No doubt this is where the plot device comes in, that somehow bran was blocking advance, which is boring.

The wights are the dead, it's the white walkers you're talking about, they seemed to control sub groups of dead. For example we saw encounters with just white walkers and wights in earlier seasons, the NK wasn't always on the scene when they showed up. They're also seemingly a bit more sentient so we saw, for example, a white walker picking up one of Craster's abandoned male incest babies to carry off the the night king, in fact that was when we first saw the night king.

The start was a bit Southpark esq "operation get behind the darkies"

I mean the Dothraki right at the front just needlessly sent off to slaughter, they didn't even bother giving them any weapons that would actually kill any of the wights, it was only when the red lady turns up and sets the swords on fire that they've at least got a fighting chance. Then just get them to charge off into the darkness and get killed. Then the unsullied hold the line while all the white guys get to retreat into the castle.

Given that they've got some arial reconnoissance in the form of two dragons and Bran's ravens etc.. you'd think they'd perhaps have taken a look at the army of the dead and maybe not bothered with that particular suicide mission, the combined Dothraki probably killed fewer wights than just one run by either Danereys or Jon with a dragon.

Then again the night king got a bit sure of himself, if he'd not exposed himself he could have just waited 24 hours and had his army of wights and/or maybe a few white walkers basically exterminate every living thing in and around Winterfell once Bran was surrounded.

I guess even though they're obliterated, with just one dragon they've potentially still got a huge advantage over anything Cersei can throw at them.
