I was first thinking about changing the Suspension and adding some coilovers
That will 100% make your 0-60 better, coilovers add an instant 50bhp.
Fold down the rear seats for an extra 0.5s off your 0-60 time, and enjoy the lower centre of mavity whilst your at it!
A jaguar s type is not the sort of car to modify.
If it is in fact your first car. Get a old Japanese car of some sort and practise on that.

I'm 19 and yeah it's my first car so sorry if I sound like a noob its because I don't have much experience working with cars yet. Also any recommendations on a good Japanese car to modify?
If you genuinely want something to modify and tinker with. Get an MX5.
Have you checked insurance costs?
they'll bend you over on stock 1.0 never mind a 3 litre jaguar with mods.

I'll look into the mx5 and yeah under my name they told me it's about 30k for a year but I put the car and everything under my dads name so the insurance is very cheap with me as a named driver
That's called fronting and is very much illegal

Well no, what you do is accept it and drive something boring for a year or two until you build up some experience and can insure your own car on your own policy properly.

It's because it's a jaguar and no one modifies them. So most of the stuff would be custom any very expensive. Buy an mx5, Corsa, fiesta etc if you want cheap mods.

I quite like the mx5 plus insurance under my name isn't too bad if I get the 1.6 and an older model
Leave him be I think he's coming down to earth slowly.
Check insurance on a 1998 - 2000 MK2 1.6, I think that is likely to be the cheapest to insure. They are great fun.

Fully built up my bottom end today & put on the head. HATE tightening headstuds, it feels like they are going to snap
even ARP ones feel wrong lol. Will put in the high lift cams and time the engine up tomorrow then do final checks then it's time to pull my old engine out and put this one in! Should be a learning experience
Also Toyota Starlet sumps are tin **** they flex and don't even torque up correctly, hopefully no leaks as I loctite RTV sealed the crap out of it.
Should be looking at around 325bhp with torque to match when its all mapped, cant wait!
