I can afford both, matter of fact I have an Intel CPU at the moment.now now don't get dragged into a argument, this is a discussion thread at the end of the day everyone has a choice and if you like intel or amd then go with what you like or afford

Thank you, Wookiee.
Lot of hate for Intel on here. Intel is better for gaming, and AMD is better for productivity.

Those 2 things will cost around 1.2k, so it should be more than enough.i have a i9 7900x system at the moment but i'm seriosly concidering the 3900x and a asus crosshair viii formula, got £1600 to burn XD
fingers crossed as was looking at 4000mhz kit of ram as well XDThose 2 things will cost around 1.2k, so it should be more than enough.
At the top end of the current stack sure, but at most price points AMD win a lot of scraps. Whole lot of games play better on a 6 core 12 thread 1600 than they do on a 4 core 4 thread 9100Thank you, Wookiee.

I wouldn't touch either of them.

Rest of his posts were removed I think.
Just seemed to be baiting and general ignorance.
I agree. The sensible choice is work out what you will use it for and choose the best option in your budget. I had a choice between a 7700k and a Ryzen 1700, due to the increased core count / threads and AM4 socket being supported for future CPU generations I chose Ryzen. I am now probably looking at. 3900x but will wait a few months for reviews and actual users experience before deciding.
Looks lik reason for stricted NDA and no pre-orders is due to low stock volumes, quite a few places have alreay completely sold out.
You should really compare it to Intel's 6 core offering. At the top end of the current stack sure, but at most price points AMD win a lot of scraps. Whole lot of games play better on a 6 core 12 thread 1600 than they do on a 4 core 4 thread 9100
Are you talking 9900K running stock or all cores 5.0Ghz?4.3GHZ all core on 3700X.
Even with the IPC advantage over Intel, it's not enough to compensate for the clock speed deficit.
Why is the 8700k locked to 4.3ghz lol?

I think the 3600x and 3700x will sell out first, wouldn't have thought many on here need the 12c CPU.Can everyone stop wanting the 3900 please, there’s not enough to go round and I’ve been waiting since they were first announced![]()
