So when gay Asian journalist was hospitalised with brain damage and chemical burns from a concrete milkshake (hey jo brand got her wish I guess on that one that the BBC still defend) by antifa why was that ok?

This is what I find interesting - when one of my relative's partner was subjected to an attack like that they had bruising on their face, damaged lip, etc. (and later had to have some teeth replaced with implants) and someone like Owen would be the first to plaster images of that all over the news if it had happened.
 
He probably just got knocked to the ground and only a couple of kicks actually landing due to his mates getting involved. The sort of pub fight scenario that happens regularly thanks to drunk idiots and is quickly split up.

No one with a brain ever said it was. I abhor violence from any quarter and it should be utterly condemned, we are in a sorry state if we think it's alright to beat each other up just because we disagree politically.

So over-dramatised as expected then. Probably just a bit of the usual drunken shoving and he made it sound like a scene from Casino.

99% of the time it's started by someone (probably him) gobbing off to some stranger. They get hit the stranger legs it, never to be seen again.

Anyone getting beaten up is terrible and yes we should all condemn violence. But...

I really don’t know too much about Owen so this is sort of a generic comment. People that run their mouths are just destined for trouble. Whether there is a bigger fish, a mob or someone several rungs higher on the psycho ladder. So whilst I do support freedom of speech, I also think that anyone exercises it in an inflammatory matter can’t then say “oooo he punched me, nerrrgh, that’s not fair!”

If you’re a nob, I have little sympathy for the slap. I do have a strong dislike for people that are ********* that then hide behind the protection of ‘rules / laws’. Likewise, there were once upon a time some very rude forum members on here that are thankfully now gone - I wouldn’t have at all sympathised if someone decided one day to bop them on the nose if they spoke like that in real life.

Again, that’s not Owen Jones related per se, just my own 2p in respect of some of the comments in here.

Seriously, link please? Like I said earlier I've read a lot of his articles etc and never found him to be inviting violence. I stay away from Twitter though, so I'm happy to be proved wrong.

I haven't watched that but isn't it common knowledge that a lot of "bankers" should have been locked up for their part in the recession. In fact, in Iceland some did.

He may have extreme views but he's not a lout like Tommy Robinson. I'm sure as someone who has written two published books, has a degree from Oxford etc. has the intelligence to hold his tongue in halt circumstances. Again, he's not a Tommy Robinson character, he's a journalist and I'm sure he knows it.

No, it's just assumed and pushed by various groups. In reality, it is more down to bank lending policy and a few investment bankers. Most people don't actually know what they're talking about when they reference "bankers".
