Mine is sitting at home waiting for me. Just waiting on work finishing! Looking forward to it. Reviews are looking good. I never had the Mega Drive when I was a kid. I was always a Nintendo fan boy. Only ever played the Mega drive at friends houses.

Anyone else had delay from Amazon? Pre-ordered the day it went live, got email today saying delivery tomorrow but when I log in to the site it says 5th to the 10th... what a pain.

Mine from Amazon was delivered today. Unfortunately it's sitting in an Amazon locker so I won't get a chance to pick it up until later tomorrow!

Mine was from Amazon and I got it yesterday. Quite easy to hook up, but I wish it weighed more as it slides to easily. I've had to order some USB extension cables as the controllers only reach half way across the living room. I let the kids have a play (as I mainly got it for them) but they're finding the games quite tough, I guess due to the sidescroller type of games.

8bitdo have a wireless 6 button pad on preorder in the US, doesn't seem available for the UK yet but tempted to get one or two when it is rather than go with extension leads, but obviously a bit of a pricey option.

I have a wireless SNES one for the Classic and is great plus it has a shortcut to get back to the menu which doesn't require getting off my arse which is a bonus.

My kids found the old SNES games too hard, games back then were much tougher generally speaking, having the assists in stuff like Mario Kart on Switch make them much more accessible.

so how is it lads/lassies? is it worth getting if i already have the snes mini and done naughty things to it.... lol

might get one for my dad at some point if supply doesn't dry up :)

I sacked off Amazon and did click and collect with Smyth's instead.

Nice little device, such an iconic look to the original Mega Drive, pads are very light but feel okay, think the 8bitdo or some other wireless ones will feel nicer with a bit more heft to them due to the battery etc.

Played a few different games, the emulation seemed pretty good but will need to play more to see how it holds up, noticed a bit of lag in Sonic.

so I've found the kids quite enjoy street fighter, obviously it's slightly one sided pitting a 3 year old against an almost 6 year old but they're loving it.

How are they finding using the 3 button pads, do they just mash it anyway so doesn't make much difference? :)

Pretty much yea, with the occasional confusion when they've held the start button too long:D. I actually let my daughter play on one of the more modern edf games and she not too bad at it, got all the way to level 9 before struggling.

My 3 year old loves Castle of Illusion....she doesn't really know what shes doing but enjoys it anyway! I've been playing mostly Castle of Illusion and Streets of Rage 2. Good emulation and options. Very similar to the SNES/NES mini and far better than the Playstation Mini.

I'll check it out, in all honesty I never had a nes or a megadrive I had an Amiga then a ps1 so most of these games I've heard of but not played (obviously not sonic because I can't believe anyone born in the 80s has not played it). My Mrs has a quick play as she likes the Mickey Mouse one.

Same, I had an Amiga and a game gear.

It took 6 and it munched through them, lucky if you got 5 hours even with Duracell. I suppose it was a blessing that I only had about 5 decent games for it!

I always wanted a game game but ended up with a gameboy instead, didn't it take something crazy like 8 batteries?
6 x AA IIRC and it only lasted 2.5 hours. When they released at launch you had to buy everything separately i.e. game, AC adapter, case etc and it was a month until they released a bundle with Sonic and the AC adapter, but I was such a spoilt brat I made my parents buy everything for me separately.
