I can’t see any type of centrifugal fan being able to cool it without being loud. Tbh I’m wondering if it’s going to be more of a mini Pc box design like Xbox Series X. I really hope it’s not a slim box with another jet fan like the Pro....

You must have got the worlds worst PS4 Pro.

Mine isn't that loud tbh and I can't hear it over games.

Xbox is next level when it comes to quiet of course but I feel folk exaggerate the noise of the pro.

You must have the world's quietest one or a recent revision. My original PS4 Pro sounds like a jet engine when running any intensive games as well!

Nope, got it at launch. It's not silent but I also don't think its loud either. I sit about 6ft away from the console. Sometimes I notice it ramp up but nothing majorly distracting.

Yeah like the others the Pro goes like a Jet Engine when playing an intensive/demanding game. You're an exception or deaf.

Don't believe anyone who says their pro is quiet. I have a 'quiet' revision and on some games it absolutely goes off.

Mine goes very loud when playing RDR2. Got mine a few months back from Argos, but not sure what model it is.

That Dualsense looks very slick, just don't like the white "Playstation buttons".

Same here, some games are fine but other, especially menus are through the roof.

I personally hope the new console is fatter and incorporates some beefy and effective cooling.

It's been said before, but...
r/whoosh !!!
:p
Aye he totally missed that didn't he :p

I've got an early pro and it depends on the game, more demanding ones cause problems, gow, zero dawn things like that. It's fairly quiet on less intense games. I'm sat 13 foot away and it's annoying.

Got the late Pro. Not had any issues with sound of the fan, at times it does spin up, but nothing that gets annoying.

Any idea when we are expecting a reveal for the actual console design?

Does the PS5 have any ability to improve or upgrade graphics for PS4 or PSVR games?

- Surely it's got to be done by June/July. But there is no concrete evidence. Some think we are being drip-fed something new each month (specs in March, controller in April, console in May) and then games from June onwards - when Ghost of Tsushima has launched and there are no more first party games to come, except for The Last Of Us, Part II.

- So far it doesn't look to be as good as Microsoft's implementation. Where games have unlocked framerates, they should run at 60fps (or even higher if there's no system Vsync) and dynamic resolutions will hit their max. But if games are locked to 30, they won't go higher and games locked to 1080p won't go higher. Whereas MS have shown Xbone games at 1080p running at 4K like Gears of War Ultimate.

Was it not all going to be revealed at the now cancelled E3 (usually June), or a separate Sony event around that general time frame?
