Final Fantasy VII - "Remake"

I'm on chapter 11. I am still really enjoying it. I'm really loving the combat. I don't think there has been a boss fight yet that hasn't been excellent.
The thing that is tarting to annoy me though is the camera during battles. It never seems to follow enemies well.... And it's incredibly annoying when there are flying enemies!

Finished the game a couple of hours ago. I posted my thoughts in the spoiler thread but I really loved it.

As we're in lockdown and all I thinking of going for all the trophies but there's so much to do I don't even know where to start. Grinding to 50 maybe? What's the best way to do it?

I'd imagine the wall market colosseum or maybe VR training would be the best bet for grinding or just do the new game plus as your levels carry over and it'll be less repetitive.

No need to grind, you’ll level up to 50 very quickly if you start chapter 1 on hard.

On chapter 14 now at the moment. Enjoying the side quests more on this chapter :)

So far done all side quests up until now.

Just done the robot hand thing in chapter 7 or 8, wow, so boring. Seems to me that it's put in there for no other purpose than to add more time to the game.

I don't think these dev's went in with an idea to come up with a mechanic to prolong the gameplay experience. That being said I didn't think it was "fun" but if we just charged through with no ladders, using the pressure value, the hand robotics, obstacles to unlock gates etc I'd have also felt it was very dull. The robotic hands were in the original FF7 but weren't interactive for obvious reasons, for that reason I thought oh cool they added them into the area interactively, before the novelty wore off.

Yeah. Things like that really bored me. Now that I am in chapter 14 I am having a lot more fun again.

Came upto this last night, got bored when I go to the 3rd set....I was like "more of them?!?! Jeezzz"

Had to quit the "mini game" before I could save as I started operating the controls and couldn't back out easily. After a 15 to 20 second loading screen to be put in the same place(why wasn't checkpoints used to speed it up:confused:) I was finally able to save and quit.

I remember the hands in the original, but one or two of them would have been fine.

There's only 3 puzzles with the arms, with the 3rd being remotely close to a puzzle. But like I said, it wasn't fun to do, and on the other hand (pun not intended) it wasn't big enough to bother me.

Completed the first 6 chapters on hard. It's not too bad, so far the first boss is the only one I've had real problems with but that was only because I tried way too long to 1 man it with Barret after cloud feinted. I should probably reset my weapon skills and think about it properly as I was pretty random with it when playing through.

What are people's playtimes to finish? (If allowed in this thread)

There are no actual story spoilers below, just my time.

It took me about 39 hours to complete on normal. I did as much exploring as I possibly could (but still missed a load) and completed all side quests possible).
Hard mode is going a lot quicker because I'm skipping all the story and exploration. I'm up to around 45 hours now I think.

I finished hard mode earlier today, I now wish there was an even higher difficulty, only Rufus gave me a bit of trouble. The Ultimate weapon (Boss via VR) in remake was way too easy with an OP reward. I would suggest doing hard mode story before going into VR for the Ultimate boss, it'll cheese the rest of the game if you get Gotterdammerung.

Probably towards the end of chapter 16 now. 2 chapters left, hopefully they are lengthy.

Chapter 17 took me a good while on my first play through, make sure you don't miss the hidden armor Chain Bangle (the one and only time you find it in the game).

I'm done with FF7R for now since I've just got the Platinum trophy, maxed all materia and seen the additional content that didn't have an achievement behind it (Chapter 14 scene with either Tifa, Aerith or Barret aka Cosmo Canyon reference to the date Cloud goes on)

Damn. You completed it a second time already? I got it 4 days before release and do not have 40 hours on the clock yet and I have been playing a lot lately :p

Thanks for the tip. So far I have done everything as far as I can see. Just doing all the missions in the be simulator at the moment before moving on to complete chapter 16 :)

I will likely complete it by Friday.
