Horizon Zero Dawn

This looks like it could be really good. Is it?

Performance issues aside (not that it's running badly for me) I think it's excellent. I'm totally addicted to it, and not had a game grab me like this in years.

It's not perfect - no game is, but I'm loving the story and gameplay, and especially the sense of mystery about the world. It feels a bit like a cross between Mass Effect, The Witcher, and Fallout - with the addition of robot animals and dinosaurs.

The challenge of taking on the biggest machines is considerable, and there's a lot of freedom about how you can approach the different enemies and combat situations in the game.

I feel exactly the same about this game it's really grabbed me on a lot of different levels, it runs fine bar the odd glitch certainly nothing to stop you enjoying the experience as long as you have reasonable expectations.

Pretty much done all the sidequests now aside from one which is story linked, they were ok but nothing special.

Started progressing the main quests and there is where the game really comes into its own, the lore and world building is up there with anything I've played. Don't think there is much left for me from the main game, but hoping Frozen Wilds will be interesting.

Is it worth doing the sidequests? I did most of them in the first area. Seems like it's quite easy to get currency to buy gear and mods.

I was tempted to pick this game up but given the issues I'm reading about perhaps it's better to wait and see if they fix it... There'll always be a steam sale at some point too!

Lots of people are having issues. I'm not and I've only had one crash in 25 hours. Its an absolutely fantastic game, probably one of the best I've played for some time. It looks stunning at times too, especially considering its a few years old.

As above. Running fine here also, and on 2 totally different machines. Does look nice and how anyone can play this well with a game pad is beyond me.
