Horizon Zero Dawn

Looking at this thread... does anyone know when the beta testing is likely to be done jeeeeeeez ;)

Apart from the resolution switching problem, no crashes, no glitches, not even any stutter.

The first two hours of this game, its a bit like how i thought of death stranding - 'meh' and then after that, once i saw what the game was trying to do its all gravy.

True, but the way some people were talking about the graphics on the console version, I think some of us were expecting a little more as we have the ability to change resolution and settings.

HDR is done properly on the PS4 version I believe so that probably helped for those who played it on a decent TV back then.

1080p won't be helping but there are quite a few games that have surpassed it since it came out. That being said it was a good looking game at 4k checkerboard on my oled in hdr on ps4 Pro but that was a while back.

Such mixed reviews on how this runs. Looks like it doesnt run on ultra 60fps at 1440p with a 1070 so il wait till the 3000s come out before i buy it

Just seen that the snow deformation and other effects are missing from the PC version lel........

Why do publishers think it is a good idea to hand a game like this over to developers who have little to no experience with PC games development/ports.

Reminds me of the batman arkham knight release fiasco all over again.

The developers of the PS4 game ported it themselves...

Agreed a shame really. Death stranding pc was done in-house and the pc port shows. Unfortunately Guerella are tied up on the ps5 sequel so it was always going to get farmed out just wish they'd given it to a better dev.

The snow deformation was only in the DLC area if I recall correctly.

Nah it was apparently a company called Virtuos.

Taken from reddit:

They left the game engine being dependent on shared memory (that's some console style development right there) so you pretty much get a hog that tries to do everything in the PCIe lane instead of off-loading to and from the system RAM. Which is why it such a ****** port with stutters and horrible frame pacing issues. Now here you are having things like 30fps facial animations, glitches, and now missing snow deformation.

The first 2 hours are slow. If you can get through them, it's an awesome game. I'm looking forward to playing it with all the DLC on PC. Apparently the optimisation on it is fairly atrocious though. a 2080Ti Kingpin was barely getting 95fps at 1440p - and for how it looks, thats poor.

Somehow I’ve not had a single crash at all nor a single stutter since the start of the game. It’s running flawlessly.

Progressing slowly, on my way to Meridian now. The gameplay is serious fun - I love the tactical element.

I now know what to expect when going into a Cauldron (I think their called?). Going to trap the hell out of the final machine next time.

This has held my attention longer than most single-player titles do. RDR2 was the last one and Witcher 3 before that.

No crashes or stuttering yet and I'm sure they'll fix the visual issues in due course.

Always wanted this game on ps4. Rarely fire up the PlayStation though as its in the living room. I'm much more of a pc gamer, so was interested when this was announced. Shame it seems to be yet another rushed port :(
