Thats NEVER the way it works lol. I can 1000% assure you that $1500 would mean £1500 (or very close to).
Very much this!
Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. The full rules can be found under the 'Terms and Rules' link in the bottom right corner of your screen. Just don't mention competitors in any way, shape or form and you'll be OK.

I bought a Switch and a drone instead of Turing because of pricing. And if Ampere is as much of a joke I'll run my 1080 for probably 12 more months then hand the towel in.Might as well get a playstation 5 I can't afford to keep up with these prices!!
Exactly its a well known marketing stunt to warm people up to an over inflated price so when it comes in lower your more agreeable whilst forgetting that its actually increased i.e. not as bad as thought. 2080Ti pricing is ludicrously expensive for what you're getting that's the baseline anything higher is just further funding Nvidia's bottom line.
Smoke & Mirrors people, ignore everything you hear on prices until the announcements. Personal speculation is something else just don't be influenced on "rumours and leaks" its all crap or intentional brainwashing.
Doesn't matter what gets said on here. Everyone knows that a top end GPU should cost around 500-700 quid. That is the fair price, and a price that still provides large profits for the manufacturer. Everyone knows that no matter what prices are thrown around.Yep and threads like this reinforce it by acting as group therapy to rationalise the inflated pricing so we feel more comfortable purchasing something that based on history should not be this price. I am a big fan of pricing theory since pricing is what I do for a living. It's worked on me, anyhow.![]()
$1500 = £1150. Still a lot of money, of course.
980Ti wasn't even that, was under 600.You would pay £1500 when the 1080Ti 3 years ago released at £699. Jesus wept..... no wonder we are getting taken dry.
I know inflation is a thing, but they seem to chuck on another couple of hundred quid with each generation these days.

And if it never comes? or doesnt compete? The higher Nvidia prices their stuff, the longer I can wait for Big Navi.

Sorry, I love AMD but I'm done "hopeing" for a top end GPU from them. Jesus it's been how long?? I've been through all the hope year after year. Prove me wrong AMD please. But I'm expecting nothing special from big navi.
I'll consider my options once I see them. My point is that Nvidia needs to make a good offer if they want me jump now
Isnt that the way it should be? I get that people want upgrades, I do too, but at the end of the day Im not made of money so I have to make a judgement on what I see.
Upgrading every generation comes at a cost, just like upgrading your car every 3 years or getting a new phone contract every 2. Ive had my phone now for 5 years on sim only and my car is 13 years old.
As a consumer, if you want value for money you have to be prepared not to buy, if its not value.
I'll pay £500 max for the 3070, assuming it's at least 50% faster than my 1070. That's my limit.
I'll pay $650-700 for 60% faster than my 1080Ti. 50%?
You can get that now - 2070S. Shouldn't be a problem at all next gen.
