NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

its so people think its a bargain at $1400 :)

Exactly its a well known marketing stunt to warm people up to an over inflated price so when it comes in lower your more agreeable whilst forgetting that its actually increased i.e. not as bad as thought. 2080Ti pricing is ludicrously expensive for what you're getting that's the baseline anything higher is just further funding Nvidia's bottom line.

Smoke & Mirrors people, ignore everything you hear on prices until the announcements. Personal speculation is something else just don't be influenced on "rumours and leaks" its all crap or intentional brainwashing.

Yea. Been saying this for a few weeks here. But people keep taking these rumours seriously. Hey at least I have not seen anyone predict that the price will be 2K+ yet. Lol.

Heh. People here clearly are extremely influenced by them. That is why you have so many predicting ludicrous prices which they are psychologically getting themselves prepared to pay :p

The worst bit is that no matter what the price. No matter how obscene and damaging to the whole PC gaming ecosystem. You will get those who pre-order and contribute to the demise of our hobby.

We are "voting" with our money.

I voted "no" on Turing myself.

I may not vote for Ampere either...Nvidia hasn't won me over yet, but we also don't have many hard facts now either.

Will you pay 2k for a 3090?

Not many people payed 2.5k for the top Turing card.
No, but I don't think it will be 2k for a 3090 (3080 Ti). It was just a rumour and people seem to be taking each and every one like it's gospel and then posting their knee-jerk reactions.

I would pay up to $1500 at a push if it was giving monstrous performance, way in advance of the 3080... but I am not going to buy anything until after release and the 3080/3090 cards have been fully benchmarked and compared.

Might as well get a playstation 5 I can't afford to keep up with these prices!!

£1500 buys you a whole pc, so that's a crazy price for just a gpu.

This sort of pricing will eventually kill the pc gaming community.
$1500 = £1150. Still a lot of money, of course.

However if you're not going to buy a 3090 anyway, which is a bleeding edge card for a niche set of buyers, then why worry about it overmuch? The 3080 will still be very powerful and signifcantly cheaper.

It's already happening, the PC market has a much smaller % than consoles compared to 10 years ago.

The prime target audience for PC gaming, those who grew up with PC games, are now in their 30's+, and many have high enough disposible incomes to afford a £1200 GPU.

Once this group of PC gamers gets too old, consoles will have already taken over.

You would pay £1500 when the 1080Ti 3 years ago released at £699. Jesus wept..... no wonder we are getting taken dry.

I fear this is the case :(
