AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

So around Turing level then :p

Its an APU for crying out loud! Its not going to be better than a full flagship GPU. The main thing here is does it do a good enough job for that game and the answer is yes! Its only PC nerds that would pick it apart and compare to the next best thing most consoles players probably dont even know what Ray tracing is!

What, every single RTX implementation in existence without the crutch of DLSS? Those reflections? And 4K 30fps, salty because a 2080 Ti can't do that?

An entire APU-based system can ray trace better than a dGPU over twice its price...you literally have no valid argument, please stop whining already. You're as tiresome and obsessed as 4K8K.

Too late,I am hungry now. Quick, glass of water time.

120FPS and RT!

This is beyond confusing. You guys are joking right? That verge article is a mess, it simply states it will support 4k 120 hz and RT (not all at the same time). like 1080p 120hz, or 4k 60, or 1440p RT etc. It's not even clear from the trailer what RT that will be (they mention GI and other things), the trailer didn't have anything resembling RT. I mean im buying PS5 again, day1 as soon as i can preorder, unlike some of you i can almost bet, but this just feels like talking to bots sorry. Unless you're doing in on purpose to annoy anyone trying to have a rational conversation, in which case, i prolly missed that.

Also the other posts about 2080ti... i mean what in the living.. ?? Those ratchet and clank reflections are below any other standards, DLSS or not. Like i want to believe this is all on purpose. I've seen more sense browsing r/amd.

Anyway that november release can't come soon enough. There will be so much crow to eat it's unthinkable at this point.

Agreed, just because AMD GPUs tend to run hot, users tempers should not follow the same curve... At the end of the day it is a piece of electronics with no thoughts or feelings, just chill.

Yea, that comment cracked me up. Decides to reply to a mod trying to cool things down by taking a dig at AMD in an AMD thread. Funny part is from what we know it will be Nvidia that will be running hot this coming gen.

What exactly are you trying to say? I mean, it's not like Nvidia have produced a 'next gen' GPU with such high thermals that they needed to get Dyson to over-engineer a cooling solution that takes up the best part of a small country in size :P

Thing is AMD have beaten him to it by adding "chill" so its not an issue anymore! Maybe the green team cards will be the ones needing the cooling this gen. :)

I wan't talking about CoD, I was talking about Ratchet and Clank. And what's so bad about Ratchet and Clank's reflections? Everybody has been complaining about everything is too shiny, mirror-like and unrealistic, but the realistic soft, diffused reflections on Clanks body are now suddenly "poor quality"?

Gotta love hypocrisy and goalpost-shifting.

No its much worse.

Try to find RTX reflections that are as low quality as ratchet and clank, you can't

Why so serious :p

You should skip this generation of GPUs and invest in a sense of humour

And for what it's worth, Nvidia are about to show up just how bad Turing was for all those who thought it was the second coming :D

Yep. Glad I skipped it, not one title came out that I was interested in playing in the end. So many got canceled, in the end they got a handful of games and demo's. Haha :D

Garlic....bread?? Garlic...............bread????

Who said Garlic bread?

I think it will be an interesting launch for sure for both sides (when amd get their act together). I hope the VRAM rumours aren't true and that there is a good meaningful upgrade for most in terms of performance rather than just MOAR RTX.

Only thing i can see being worth it is the 3090. And don't think i can bring myself to pay what the rumours suggest. 2080Ti still doing well at my current resolutions so will have to pray its not stupid expensive otherwise just stick with what i have.

They are terrified consoles will do well due to PCMR E-peen. So most of these games shown are not even final versions,so features and performance isn't final, but they need to dork over magnified pictures to prove some weird point.

Yet,in the end most PC gamers in the immediate won't have the ability to run RT games well due to the lack of an RT capable GPU which is good enough. You can see it in the Steam survey. It wouldn't surprise me if we end up with more console players having RT capable systems in the immediate future.

It was the same with VR,all the dorks were going on how the PS4 VR was crap, etc but the PS4 VR headset sales were more than all the PC headset sales of its era IIRC. Not surprising when the cost of a PS4/PS4 PRO and the headset was less than many PC headsets.
