Might want to check it's warranty if it's failing on the euromillions :p
Only works on pc hardware and it was right on Fury X being OVERCLOCKERS DREAM on Vega chasing Titans Then on Navi and on Turing. Best Investment I'w made.

Don't you think if Nvidia is being more aggressive this generation, and even bundling a game on launch, they know something we don't?? Did they do that with Turing or Kepler??

You literally said you don't care about what AMD releases, because you like the look of the RTX3080 so have made your mind up. This based on zero reviews, and without even seeing what AMD has out. This is exactly what happened with the GTX200 series. It was powerful, people jumped onto it,and merely weeks later ATI launched the HD4870,and GTX200 series prices had to be dropped. GTX680 dropping two months after the HD7970,etc.

I knew some people got burnt by that,so ever since I would never buy a new AMD/Nvidia GPU on launch,if I know both companies have their releases within say 2 months of each other. In the context of how long we keep GPUs for I don't understand why rushing into these things makes any sense. It was the same with people buying Core i5 7600K CPUs weeks before the Ryzen 5 launched.

I could even understand if AMD said tommorrow, its available in Jan 2021,yonks after Cyberpunk 2077 is out,and people not bothering. We don't even have that.

Seriously we have AMD's new CPUs,new GPUs,consoles and so many launches from now until November.

Maybe its a generational thing.
+1 I have to agree it seems bizarre to jump now when you've waited so long especially when you have full knowledge AMD is going to launch a competitor within weeks. There's never been a better time to keep your nerve and wait a month or two when buying a new GPU yet so many knowledgeable people are seemingly committed to buying Nvidia or a 3080 without even seeing what AMD will offer.

Vega "chasing titans"? Are you referring to that image about "hunting titans" that was a fake from a few years back?

AAAA noooo that was RAJA that lying ****

Only thing they crushed was dreams of descent AMD GPU

Lots of Rollos about.

Agreed.

It looks like AMD is going to need that big Navi 80cu+ card in its back pocket, it might even need to bring out its own DLSS.

The Xbox Series X which uses a 52CU RDNA2 chip is now only matching entry level to mid range RTX3000 GPU and it's no longer matching what was considered to be high end RTX2000 GPU performance.

Everyone expected Nvidia to double its Tensor and Ray Tracing performance, that's a given anyway. But what really caught everyone off guard is the new SM unit that offers a massive 2x IPC over Turing bringing RTX3090 up to 36 Teraflops of single precision output at 1700mhz.

So, hot and hungry because Sammy 8nm is a rubbish node, RT performance is only doubled after 2 years and non-3090 pricing is still about $150-200 higher than what it should be.

Jesus wept AMD, this is practically an open goal; if you balls this up I'm flying over personally to smack you.

Ah come on man. We are talking about a much better GPU than the current best for around haLf the price. Your post makes you seem like bitter AMD fanboy ;)

I do hope AMD manage to release cards that further improve price for performance, but you can’t dismiss the 3080 like that.

Fact looking at AMDs market share going down the toilet.

Lol.

So AMD is doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed now?? Or is too early?? :D

If Kopite is right(and he was right about Ampere),its going to be quite a fun ride.

Nobody knows how fast the console GPUs are though - DF made up some guestimates based on early unoptimised games. They estimated the XBox Series X GPU to be around RTX2080/RTX2080 Super level based on that. You do also understand that a RTX2080TI is 40% faster than an RX5700XT at 4K?? The XBox Series X GPU has nearly 30% more shaders and more bandwidth than an RX5700XT.

People make their mind up, and even though @CAT-THE-FIFTH said reasons not to jump in, there are many guys who don't care what AMD have to offer its a none starter unfortunately.

Only hope for AMD is they see the big gaping hole in NV's line up - namely a GPU with between 10GB and 24GB VRAM. If they can match a 3080, but give it 16GB, they'll be onto a winner.

Yes, agree. Even a 3070 (non XT variant) for £400, chicken dinner. :)

Kopite seemed confident about RDNA2. They literally predicted everything correctly about the GA100,GA102 and GA104. Even the 2XFP32,they and another leaker had a discussion about a few weeks ago,but dismissed it as fanciful! 8NM was predicted too.

I think they will probably have an RTX3070/RTX3080 competitor. V7 had 16GB of HBM2 VRAM,so I would be surprised if AMD don't have 8GB,12GB and 16GB options. They won't match an RTX3090 I think,as I suspect AMD won't be using GDDR6X if Nvidia has monopolised it,and HBM2 could be an option but that would be very expensive if they go for 4 stacks!

I think AMD trying the "show of force" marketing makes sense if true.Wait for Nvidia Ampere to clear the news cycles.

Then they launch Zen3,launch the consoles and launch RDNA2 all within a few weeks of each other.

That way if RDNA2 based GPUs are competitive those on the middle might be swayed towards an all AMD system.
