But the difficulty is, what is waiting? By that I mean what might be seen as waiting for one person is seen as jumping the gun by others.
Example: I have been accused be several people (mostly in this thread) of being incapable of waiting by saying that I was going to buy a 3080 at or around launch. And I get how people see that. "Oh it's just launched and he is jumping on it".
But what those people dont see is that I have been patiently waiting for over 2/3 years! Biding my time, watching the offerings, saving my money, constantly making buy or no buy descisions.
I skipped Turing, I waited. I didn't rate the offering and I waited. I've done my waiting thanks very much and as as a 1080 owner I am due an upgrade. I am not getting the frames I want in MSFS and my enjoyment is being held back now (for the first time with my card). Also I have been saving for several years so have cash I can drop with no impact on my finnances. So it is, in every measurable way, time for me personally to upgrade.
"Oh but AMD, why not wait for AMD". You mean like I was told to wait for 10 seires Intel chips when I said I was going to buy Ryzen 3700x? Look. There is ALWAYS something "right around the corner". But when I have the money, Im dissapointed in my current performance, I've spent years waiting and watching and I like the offering I am shown (not to mention Gsync) Then I am perfectly sensible to buy now.
