AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

No i just think all the "best Navi GPU RTX 3070 competitor" is a bit too obviously wrong. :)
I'll put a tenner down saying Nvidia will release a 3080 Ti/Super by March latest because AMD beat the 3080 :p

I'm confident in my belief that the reason the 3090 is announced now is AMD can't top it. So much for my desire to see a tit-for-tat at the top.

Problem is that Steam survey is not very accurate. I'm not saying Nvidia doesn't have a sizeable lead, cause they do, but that steam chart feels off. Considering how many times when I was running my 4790k/1080ti combo I got asked if I wanted to submit to Steam survey and the 1 time only I've been asked after my Ryzen/Vega 64 was build, I don't hold much stock in those results. No I'm not saying Steam is after AMD if any would be silly enough to think that, its coincidence in my case but still a pointer towards incorrect data.
Also the GTX1060 share is both 3GB/6GB models and the mobile versions which have all the same names. If you add the RX480/RX580/RX590/RX470/RX570 numbers together it comes to nearly 5% still not as good as Nvidia but still reasonable share, especially as AMD laptop share is non-existent. The problem is RDNA didn't really replace Polaris that well.

Cat, I dont think people deserve the extended breakdowns :p

I'll put a tenner down that The Fury will be back in the cooler before the AMD orders are in people's hands.

I want amd to produce the goods. I fancy a change from nvidia for first time in a long time.

I suspect you are right (ish)

AMD likely have something that can give the 3070 and 3080 a run for their money.

Nvidia will be the only ones with 3090 level performance, and they will drop a 3080TI in for good measure to open up another price bracket and have something that just about definitely beats the fastest AMD card.

I did actually unsub this thread because my current brainspace cannot handle the mystifying mentality behind a lot of posts. Time to work on my self-control again ;)

Let's say there's a 6900XT that beats the 3080. Nvidia obviously respond with a 3080 Ti. Now if there's actually breathing space in the silicon this time, what about a mentally-overclocked, maybe AIO-cooled 400W monster called the 6950XTX that actually pips the 3080 Ti? I'd love to see that, and such a squabble at the top end could work wonders for mindshare.

But then again you just know some people will go "AMD fail, still can't even beat the 3090". A few on these forums perhaps too.

Well i hope that is the case, as it may help keep prices sensible.

Hopefully AMD dont make the mistake of being late to the party and then releasing something that isn't quite as good as the competition for the same money though.

:D could see it now. But AMD drivers.. But AMD no DLSS.. But AMD...

Any excuse. But you did hear it here first, its AMD's fault as they arent competitive enough

I hope AMD doesn't gimp the RAM on their upcoming cards like Nvidia have. AMD will also need an answer to DLSS.

I'm still waiting for an answer to my question about exactly what this "superior software stack" Nvidia has.
