AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

Sounds like the new cards are delayed until next year then. Like a lot of things :/

You do realise that AMD profit margin on consoles is low? How do you think Sony & Microsoft keep BOM cost so low?

Deluded opinion? They had 2 years to get their **** together and they still come behind Nvidia? Is it that much to ask for AMD to be the first out of the gate at least once? Where is the effort shown here? Why are they waiting until the end of October?

If you have a competitive product, announce at at the end of this month, why are they waiting another month & half?

Profit for MS is low per unit, not the manufacturers.

Strange.

I guess although they won't immediately be available at that time, people should hopefully know on the 28th whether to choose AMD or NVIDIA.

And that assumes if they want to go nvidia there's stock knocking around. In a weird place at the mo with miners eyeing up the nv cards and possibly the amd cards if they turn out to be comparable at it or better. It's like snag an FE on launch day and be sure of one or do the waiting game for a release that could be mid November for all we know.

Yeah, ita a tweet about nothing, this isn't a release date, its not even an announcement of an announcement of some kind, it is just:

"RDNA2 is a thing"

Yeah we know that...

AMD will need to price match Nvidia so maybe it will drive prices down. It's worth waiting as there is really no point in rushing to upgrade (also to find out if Nvidia cards are actually reliable this time), what would you even need it for?

No wait my bad, its not just "RDNA2 is a thing" its "RDNA2 is a thing and October 28 is a date in the future"

What is happening on October 28 AMD? Another tweet?

I will be ordering a 3070 unless AMD can give 100% verified benchmarks and pricing before the 3070 comes online.
That would make some sense if you were after a 3080.

There's only a week between nV's 3070 release and AMD's announcement of their next announcement.

So they'll announce the release date on the 28th of October... which could be in December... I'm on a 780ti, I waited long enough. And before anyone says 'fanboi' etc, I've only ever bought AMD GPUs brand new in the past, the 780ti being used.

Well It is 7 weeks, that's 7 weeks until who knows what, another couple of weeks after that the consoles get launched and a few weeks after that we are drowning in alcohol for a few weeks hoping 2021 is better than 2020, RDNA2 is all but forgotten and then AMD put out another tweet to wind us all up again.
