AMD Navi 23 ‘NVIDIA Killer’ GPU Rumored to Support Hardware Ray Tracing, Coming Next Year

So its never going to be wild is it! Lol
But you could cut a hole in the PCB and put a fan on the other side! It just works! #worshipthejacket

It's quite frightening that the level of insta-dismissal of AMD has plunged as low as claiming copying of a previous gen Nvidia Founders. This is almost medical intervention territory.

So JayZ2Cents thinks its ugly and because it has a recessed centre notch they copied Nvidia.

Oh and everyone thinks its ugly because, well, jay thinks its ugly.

Do you guys think its ugly? Wait what am i asking you lot for, you're going to like it because you're AMD fanboys.
-----------------

I hope the card is good and he goes on like this despite that and burns the bridges with his audience, the reaction to this cooler has been overwhelmingly positive but for whatever reason Jay is trying to get you to hate it, the fact that he thinks he has that level of influence speaks for its self.

I don't know what has got into him, usually he never gets involved but with this launch he really is and trying very hard to dampen down any positive reaction to what AMD are doing.

Just watched this video. Yikes... Its so much guff. Its a red stripe. Then again he picked up the older card and moaned about being able to see the green and yellow wires through the fans and that annoying him!?! Because everyone generally looks through their fans of the GPU while the PC is in use. 'I can't game on this, i can see the cable colours' :(

Look everybody, it's got a groove in it, how dare Accelero invent a time machine to time-skip 10 years into the future so they could copy a 2080Ti cooler.

Review pending etc, I'm looking at a new gpu. Mainly for iracing 1440p 165hz. However I want to move to vr in the new year. Is there any difference amd to nvidia vr wise?

Looking at the design, I think its quite dated. The AMD cooler looks a little busy / messy with the 'R' logo all over the place and too many design lines running at difference angles. Personally I think they should have softened the style of Radeon VII and stuck with that, or carried the styling of the 5700XT notch.

To be fair to team green, their founders 3000series cards have a slick, clean design and a little bit classy-er.

Time will tell.

Even if the design was utter *****, which it certainly isn't, I'd happily take it if it offered better VFM.

I guess the ones worried are those 'LAN-party types' with clear perspex case sides.

The cards look great, Jay2Cents should get down to specsavers.

Prices on Nvidia 3XXX series are already being jacked before they are on sale.

I am waiting for all the dust to settle before buying anything, will have to live vicariously through you guys in the meantime..

Nvidia do tend to support more VR features but not sure if AMD will now support many of these with Navi.
Certainly the impression I got looking around. So time will tell. There will be no 3080s for a bit imo and amd is looking promising and hopefully cheaper. Will have to hold out with the 980ti for a bit longer then I hope then.
Ps the amd card looks good, could look better but could look a lot worse. However really not fussed just want a card that works well.

100%

Yeah, what was i thinking :p

solid reasoning.

Linus said the 2080ti prices were inflated and he didnt recommend the 2070 based on the complete lack of RTX benchmarks available, and LTT ripped Tom's Hardware's 'opinion piece' on why RTX cards were worth the money. But no, he's a hypocrite right?

I can see the resemblance in the edge profile, other than that they look nothing a like, the fan side of the card is completely different.

There are only so many different ways you can make the edge of the card look and if you want to enclose the PCB to hide it.... well this is how it will look, there is no getting around it.
The back plate and the fan side is where you can have a lot of design choices and they are completely different, somehow the Radeon card manages to be quite fussy while still looking very sleek.

I did like the FE card, AMD have done well as the Radeon card manages to look much better.

The thing with VR is that for the majority the only thing that matters is the actual GPU power. I have and RTX 2080 and the "features" are pretty meaningless. FFR (Fixed Foveated Rendering) for example simply pixelates the edges of the screen. Without eye tracking this means you get a pixelated mess and must train yourself to look only dead ahead. A 20% increase in FPS was simply not worth it considering how it made the majority of the image pixelated.

The accellero has no recessed full length heatsink on show and the pcie power connectors aren't in the same place?

That's some reaching to try and disprove a small point. Looks like it really wound some of you up LOL.

I had a vive for a bit and got used to the move your head not your eyes thing. It wasn't clear or good enough for me. Tried a friends index which was much better. Just want something to drive it on iracing at full quality if possible. I'll play other games but mainly iracing. So need a new gpu first.

Am liking the look of the new AMD designs, a welcome departure from blowers. The only thing I would critique would be the red band would have been nice to have been RGB but I also realise these are the reference designs and the AIB's will no doubt do some things a little differently. Looking forward to the reviews on how cool they stay in addition obviously to the other performance stats.

Wow, irony failure alert. The only thing I am getting at is the pointlessness of the entire nonsense regarding minor aesthetics of a GPU.
