You miss the point. The 20x0's were overpriced and nVidia was making a large profit on them - so they kept producing them. The 30x0 series cuts massively into profits because the cooler is expensive and they've had to price them, what I suspect is, a lot lower than planned due to the AMD threat this generation.
Lol
The difference here is you are speculating and what I said is facts

I don't understand why people are cancelling their orders. Yes it might be a few months till you receive it but surely by cancelling you are going to be looking at 2021 till you get one?

I cancelled my order as I was thinking about the 3080 20Gb version probably launch soon after the AMD launch to disrupt it. Also maybe going 3090 as I dont want to run into a limit in 1-2 years with RAM

True but Gigabyte have accidentally revealed the 16gb 3070 and the 20gb 3080 so if you have to wait till Christmas I cant believe those models wont be too far around the corner!!

You miss the point, there are 2060s 2070s 2080 fe for sale right now on nvidias site.
I. E they kept Making them enough to be sold 2 years later
I. E they will keep making 3080 founders

?

Your missing the point mate. I mentioned earlier than the FE cooler for the 3k series is very expensive. It's been leaked as costing Nvidia $150 per cooler. The 2000 series cooler on the other hand, probably costs les than $50. This is of course due to the 3000 series being over 100W more TDP than the 2000 series, requiring much bigger coolers, more metal, more engineering, alternative fan design where they spin asynchronously, custom weird shape PCB, customer power connector, etc.

It's not in Nvidia's interest to make many FE cards, it was designed just to ensure very good day 1 press reviews, taming a 320W beast into a quiet, cool card (while heating your room to the nth degree)

I'm happy to wait, I put an order in as the card I chose was actually showing as in stock. If they all showed pre order I wouldn't have bothered. Plus between now and when I'm likely to get my card there will be more to the market.

Yeap, exactly!

Cause its well known situation since FE cards came to existance in 2016 ??
My Dad Always told Me. "There are not stupid questions, just STUPID PEOPLE" He's so right.

haha what an insane take. Reminds me of when the great English Philosopher John Locke said "Reading furnishes the mind only with materials of knowledge; it is having a broad knowledge of niche hardware skews and their release distribution that truly makes it ours"

Man we all started somewhere, and saying that people are inherently stupid is unbelievably stupid. You should always ask questions that's how you learn

Exactly

My order number is 586457*, ordered at 16:53. It looks like the first orders have roughly 586000 as order number. I ordered an MSI Ventus, so assuming that this is of average demand among the 19 cards listed right now on the store, I am roughly 250th in the queue for this card, then there are people that cancel of course which brings that down further. Judging by what Gibbo said referring to shipment size "Less than 50 is small, more than 50 is average, more than 100 is big and more than 1000 is a dream.", my previous estimate of a November delivery seems about right.

Oh dude, I get you're upset but ask yourself why people defend OCUK? Because their customer service is 2nd to none. They've been amazing to me over the years as they have many others.

Why does it matter where in the queue you are? You're not getting one right away unless you pay the scalpers on Ebay etc. If you've paid, get a refund or wait, they can't magic stock out of thin air. You clicked pre order not buy it now.

No, people clicked order when the site is saying ETA of within a week and then charging extra for the quick delivery. You can keep defending them all you want. They have completely messed up and they're in the wrong when they keep taking people's money when they can't hope to do anything with it.

Order Number: 586049(removed last digit)
14:25:14

This is for a EVGA card so I`m unsure on stock plans for them, seems that they have been removed from site as a pre order too...

If calculations are correct I am early in line numbers wise...

Fingers crossed EVGA supply the cards!!!

lol even early in line might be January. Look at the 1080tu launch. Evga took over 90 days to deliver to the uk and that launch wasn’t as popular as this

It's been the same for the 18 years I've been ordering from OCUK. If you pre-order, you pay all upfront, then they deliver when it's available. There's no faster way to get a card than from OCUK. Cancel if you want, but you won't get another card anywhere as quick, unless you're extremely lucky and can spend all day refreshing other retailers.

Nice one sweetheart, do you feel good now?
Not as good as when Ill rub some salt in someones face if he gives me option when Ill be out shopping and make hes day even worse than it is hehehe. Nothing makes my day than having a good go at someone personally and watch him melt in fron of my eyes.

This bots buying cards is a cover story, even a script cant buy cards at the speed of light because u still have to navigate several pages to the cart and the bots would still suffer coping with the slow down of the site.

In Europe, the bots were apparently using an API, not the web ordering system.

The product code got leaked, so they went straight past the website and dropped their orders into the system with no delays.

That at least is easy to fix for the next time around.

Not the best place to ask but think its kinda relevant, thinking about getting a 3090, any idea if its gonna be as bad as 3080 launch or do people think it might be better due to lower demand/sites might prepare more after they saw this launch?

Fewer cards than 3080, and demanded has increased because people didn't get the 3080 and are now wanting to got a 3090.
