I'm going to keep messaging evga_jacob on twitter till I get an answer about the ftw3 coming to the UK... This silence is actual crap.

Who is this for? What benefit is it to be silent, I'd respect honesty and I'd keep the sale if I knew how long I had to wait. Why keep us in uncertainty, that's one of the worst feelings ever.

Not sure if posting links is allowed, moderators please remove if not. But just thought it put it into perspective how good (website issues aside) OCUK have been considering. I haven’t received my card yet and this is my first order with OC but the level of communication I’ve had here on the forum has made me a customer for sure!

yeah we know ocuk is not the only gouger.

The comment that had my interest in that reddit post is apparently MSRP is only applicable on launch day stock, if that is a thing than it means there is no MSRP in practice, which is horrible practice, it feels like this sector needs regulation. But that might be seen as anti capitalism. As it stands youtube review's are now regulated, I might report this to trading standards, with the request been to ban MSRP in social media advertising (which is what product supplied reviews are) if that MSRP is not honoured for the lifetime of the product.

On advertising this is more something for the Advertising Standards Authority if you feel like inquiring/making a complaint, they do have guidelines for RRP advertising.

I do find the whole reply from that competitor rather telling of their mindset and will make a mental note not to do business with them (not that I had ever heard of them before) “we could sell these cards for any price we want given the shortages”. “Going on eBay for £1000 and other sites so £849.99 is a good price”... Basically STFU, get back in line. Also since when was them taking a loss on inventory they mismanaged the customers problem.

I also find it funny how every business selling these cards are claiming that they are an “NVIDIA partner and will be guaranteed stock”... Like a multi billion dollar companies such as NVIDIA or the AIBs actually give a f about a tiny outlet and will go oh, little Johnnie company needs some cards urgently, better make them a priority, pretty laughable.

Edit : They aren’t even a partner lol. So a lie right there

Which makes it a slam dunk, however, nvidia themselves are honouring it on FE, the reviewers and partners need to be advertising a price for it to get upheld in my view. The retailers are not making claims of selling at RRP, so they wont be on the hook for this, it would be the media channels used to advertise the product. If they are e.g. claiming the MSRP for TUF is at a certain price point and hardly anyone is selling for that price then it would be ruled as misleading.

This quoted from oc3d a uk based reviewer on asus tuf OC (price quoted for asus tuf), he quotes a price before it was even available to order, but doest quote RRP specifically. For reference ASA do treat reviewers who get products for free as paid advertising.

The TUF is a well priced RTX 3080, but we think in reality the £649 card would be a better option and then just hit the Nvidia OC scanner button and get that performance for free.

Interesting the reviewers have been careful about pricing, on previous generation products it was common to see a MSRP/RRP quoted.
 
Hopefully we will get some news on the official queue system today and an update on incoming stock.

Really hoping the 300+ MSI card delivery someone mentioned yesterday happens.

What I would do is instead of cancelling and reordering, just ring up OC and ask them to upgrade you to the OC version, you'll have to pay the difference but you wont lose your place in the queue that way, I did it earlier today and was told you keep the same order number and time therefore keeping your place in the queue

Hope this is a joke. No way I should have to wait longer due to the mistakes of others.

yeah would at least be better I would respect them more if they just said no cards will be coming to the uk until January or something. People could then at least decide if they are prepared to wait or not,
