Anyone here actually going for the 3090? i was really going ham on it as i always want the biggest and best but looking at the 10% increase for lowkey 1600GBP+ where i paid 650 for 3080 just seems like a Very clowny idea so i will for sure pass on 3090 :(

For the gains over the 3080, nowhere near worth the asking price. Even if it was 50% faster (which it's not, closer to 20%), it's 110% more expensive. Insane.

What percentage increase am I looking at for 4k gaming over the 3080?

nvidia have released a statement saying for gaming its only 10-15% faster than the 3080............

to quote Toms Hardware

"If there was any doubt to the GeForce RTX 3090's performance, Nvidia just confirmed it via a blog post today. The GeForce RTX 3090, which Nvidia is dubbing as the big ferocious GPU or "BFGPU," is only 10% to 15% faster than the GeForce RTX 3080 at 4K gaming."

It's not even about when the card comes, it's about transparency, the other company (which I will not name) have stopped taking preorders so they can meet the demand of their current orders and have also updated customers on when stock is due, OC is STILL taking preorders and have barely given any information about stock or when it may be due.

Overclockers have been radio silent pretty much all day today and we have had no such updates, tidbits here and there but nothing solid or even guesstimated, the reality is, OC have the customers money, lots of it and they are doing what seems like the absolute bare minimum right now, at best it's not good customer service at all, at worst it seems very greedy and very suspect, anti-consumer I would say.

I have always used Overclockers for everything before PC related and never had a single issue but this whole thing even prompted me to return to the forums and essentially complain about the way they are dealing with things.

People should stop defending poor customer service and acknowledge it for what it is.
To be fair that other company only stopped taking pre orders once they got to January for delivery. Ocuk has stopped pre orders on manufacturers who won’t give any idea of when cards will arrive in the uk. As for the rest, looking at the quantities that ocuk are getting in, I doubt they have pre orders for anything longer than 6 weeks, half the time of the company you are talking about.

that’s why ocuk can hold up pre orders fro longer cause they know they can get the stock whereas some other retailers aren’t even expecting some stock until 30th November.

Te RTX 3080 release has been a disaster. I had OCUk, Caseking and other sites open and was luck enough to get an EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 from Caseking within 15 mins. Job done.
Order went to processing the next day and full payment taken.
Then yesterday I get an email advising no stock left and I was now on a waiting list with no ETA.

I rang CaseKing and they advised me that the sum total of the 3080s they had received for release day - was "14" - total. That's inclusive of all brands.
They apologised and reiterated that they had not Stock ETA for EVGA cards.
Very disappointed - waiting on refund and have to keep looking around...
