I always put power limit to limit then overclock and no issues at all. 100% rock solidWhat about when you put the power limit to its maximum position and then play a gpu intensive game with it?

Most of the launch 3080 and 3090 partner cards will use cheaper components, the better cards normally turn up 6 or 8 weeks after launch.
It is not all cards that are having the problem or no one would have a working card would they.
It would be more helpful when you quote these things if you could tell us what percentage of each SKU is having the problem rather than saying all cards.
The reason why I posted the Kingpin article is to highlight that the GA102 chip itself works fine, this means the problem is with the supporting electronics. One thing with a Kingpin card is almost everything on it has been changed apart from the GA102 chip and it has very little in common with the launch cards.

there is no central database for saying a % of the cards but on differnt forums threads Youtubers and alike there is not a model of a card that doesnt have the same isues. i linked the 3d mark overall clock speed % very few get above 2100m which is what im saying.
you have stated that all cards sould go above 2000mhz and beyond when the numbers on 3d mark show a differnt story. on both the 3080 and 3090 90% of the card suffer the same clock speed limitations. not all suffering from major issues and far from it most are working as intended but only a few % acctully get anthing above 2000mhz
. I can get over 2k and according to the 'experts' on here is the worst card and the caps are wrong yadda yadda....How's this situation with the MSI G X Trio's, any reports on those cards?
On this video, he simulates the crash and pointed to voltage changes, up and down. The moment he locks at 1050, crash didn't happen.
Hes onto something. My gigabyte card goes to 1093mv when boosting to 2100mhz and only touches 1.1v at 2130mhz. 2000mhz to 2070mhz ranges from 1000mv to 1056mv. The gigabyte card has 470SP caps which seem to cope well at these voltages and frequency.
Does the Asus Tuf rtx 3080 have any issues?
I have read that it does, yes
Which gigabyte card do you have? And any OC on the card?
Good to hear, this is the model I am waiting on. Had nothing but good experience of Giga so not entirely surprised.its the Eagle OC, max ive seen it boost with +75 is 2150mhz but its TDP power limited, so any offset after 75mhz does nothing it doesn't crash though no matter how much I push that offset slider.
The only really sensible stance to take is this one, I agree and am doing the same.Seems to be no real definitive answer here on what particular cards and what exactly is causing it. I’m just going to keep my place in the queue and not panic, if there’s any problems when I receive the card I’ll just return to ocuk.
