Another controversial thing OCUK are doing, allowing people to swap cards but keep their order number, so won't actually move to the end of the queue.

seriously someone can swap the card and keep the place in the queue? if they do it thats just beyond the joke ocuk :D

I take it no news on the official queue yet?
I called them half hour ago there was no news, i spoke about Scan getting some tomorrow for EVGA cards which had yet to be seen in the uk, we agreed it was reasonable to assume they will see some too but no promises and the Watch dogs legion codes get sent onece they ship your order

Its not a guess.

Most psu's use 8awg wiring as its cheaper.
8awg is rated for 24amps for power distribution

300w over 1 cable is 25 amps

If they were to use the 6awg it would be fine as that is rated for 37 amps

Something here doesn't sound right.

PSU cables typically use 18 awg. That's also what the molex pins themselves are rated for. When I made my own cables I went a step up to 16 awg; they're a bit thicker and harder to work with (they look really nice though :)).

8 awg would be MASSIVE, and is not found in any computer. 28 awg (just got some delivered) is tiny, that's the size you might find on fan wires.

Makes sense though... they call up and get the order changed to a different card and pay the difference... they will keep the same order number though, which the queue system will be based on.

I think the theories that the work is done by an external company that they outsource their IT/web stuff to is likely right. They have a contract that says something like "new features requests to be fulfilled in X weeks" and either haven't managed to get them to budge on that, or it'd cost some amount they view as too much to rush it.

It does for some people, but not for others (their site had issues with syncing the orders up with at least the credit card processor, so many of those numbers are 10k+ higher than they would be based on the order time).

Hopefully the Amazon/etc rules have just been misunderstood, and what they mean is that for Amazon/etc they know the correct time based on payment/order number, but that due to the issues with the credit card processor they are using the order time logged there?
They should be honest with us in that case.

I've seen quite a few EU sites posting dates for when they will get stock of the ASUS TUF & Strix cards and all are saying Jan 2021. Whether or not that's just to manage peoples expectations i don't know.

Yes yes, I know it's not right. But if I shrank them THAT small you wouldn't see them.

I agree with all of this - especially the comments regarding your answer to question 2 - I find OC's reply to that insulting as hell, and although there is no way I want to cancel my pre-order as I have a decent position in the queue, the likelihood of me buying from you again is next to zero due to the lack of communication
After that statement you'd better hope that your order doesn't get lost in the system , just the same way as any stock information seems to be getting lost.
