Sounds exactly like the guy I spoke to except he said use the online form then hung up as I was still speaking lol, lost a customer here I won't use again no need for rudeness especially after holding for 30+mins...

The OUT OF STOCK email you must have had references the sticky Gibbo thread, and gives a direct link to the form to request cancellation. The sticky thread references that very same form; it's the most efficient way they have to deal with these requests as they're being swamped with customer support requests. Why are you calling them to request cancellation?

Whilst I would say that's out of order on the CS staff member's part I can understand his frustration.

People have been told not to call regarding stock updates and a cancellation form has been provided online yet people are still calling them for these purposes. It then stops them from doing other work which may speed things up.

Either way, I wouldn't say the people I've spoke to on the phone at OcUK have ever had any kind of customer service training.

True, but there have been people on here saying they've been waiting a few days after doing the online form. If you're being told to use that and not phone then they should have someone full time on that processing the cancellations.

this, being able to change your order thing seems a tad unfair. it means those that realised they bought the wrong card can queue jump those that ordered one that ‘may’ actually work and got their order in first. if you want to change your order you should go to the back of the queue.

30 msi cards?? Lol this is a joke, im canceling!!... How do you take all these orders knowing you dont have stock for them forcing a preorder sale on thousands of ppl. Everyone made their purchase believing their card was allocated, No where in the purchase page did it say PRE ORDER. On the pace these cards are coming in orders wont be filled till next year.

Thats what its going to be like until end of October for every card and retailer. Scan sold all their expected shipments of cards up to end of November.

Fact is that this launch is just a paper launch. I think that if there are 10,000 in the people in the world with their 3080s before end of October, Nvidia will think they are doing well.

Its November and December when the big boat loads will come in and OCUK start taking delivery of 1000 cards of one model at a time.

Perhaps they do. I've been waiting for a few days for my cancellation to be confirmed and considering the circumstances will give OcUK a full seven working days as they are no doubt overwhelmed. As advised, I agree the manner is unacceptable, the staff should still be professional and polite, however, people need to use their heads a little more.

They probably have somebody on full time but how many per day do you think they can process? a 1000? a 100? Plus they probably keep having to answer the phone to people being asked to be put through to refunds.

Well they delayed the STrix board and it has been reported over the internet that ASUS has changed the design in pre-production and although they havent admitted to it directly, ASUS themselves said on the 17th that the strix had been delayed and would not be available at launch.

And lastly the pictures ASUS put up on their website showed the strix board with a different configuration of POSCAPS and MLCC groups to the actual strix boards now being made (with 100% MLCC groups now). They have since replaced the pics

This is the card they are now shipping with 6 MLCC groups

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IDMS54jEFM&feature=youtu.be

This was the original strix card and the promotional images Asus sent out on the strix

EVGA have come clean and said they had to redesign theirs because they came across the issue and just like the strix, earlier FTW EVGA boards had 6 POSCAPS on. Asus just said their were delayed for "unknown reasons".

Seems odd dont you think? I mean Asus are doing very well out of the "we had 6 MLCC on our strix cards from the start"

you claimed ASUS revised cards since sending out to reviewers in your last post. That isn’t the case, no Strix cards have been sent to media with 6 POSCAPS. The marketing shots are early production and never saw light of day.

It’s an important distinction as people may assume that reviewers have a different revision, which isn’t the case.

They probably have all their CS staff processing them. How many do you think they have? When they aren’t on the phone telling people they don’t have any, they are probably doing that at the same time. It took four hours for me to get my email saying my order was cancelled.

Same here, I cancelled Saturday using the provided cancel webform for the MSI G X TRIO after seeing numerous issues in the Nvidia forum with this model with no manual overclocks but my cancel request is yet to be confirmed

Unfortunately not everyone got that email, it went out when some of us were still stuck in payment processing limbo. Only email I ever got was the order confirmation when it finally came through on Monday evening. Have never had the out of stock email.

Luckily I've been reading here, but I can imagine a fair number haven't, call up, then end up here to vent their frustrations.

Consider yourself lucky!! I started @ #214, then dropped all the way down to 169, now I'm back to #192 lol!! I know it's not an official tracker, and pray that it's way off the mark, but I'm waiting on the same card.

i suspect that is because OC seem to be letting people swap to a different card but keep their place in the queue. So if they see one brand starting to be delivered they can swap their order to that brand and queue jump ahead of you for that card, for the card you may have ordered on the first day. If this is correct its really bad form by OC

Technically went down (29 to 28) in queue for an Eagle, but I'm switching over to an asus tuf so doesn't really count :P Apparently I'm 40 in that queue though, dunno where I would've been before.

But anyone who's >28 in the eagle queue, take one off :)

So you changed cards and kept your queue number so your getting it before me? Wow.

Because there is no update!? They haven’t got one so you can’t have one. If you want to know exactly where stock is going then ring gigabyte and ask them as I don’t think even the distributors know. All the AIB partners are going to be fighting for chips from nvidia to fill orders and it’s out of stock everywhere. You obv thought it wasn’t going to take a long time. mall the cards ave to go through customs etc, with covid and everything else going on they don’t k ow when this is all going to be back to normal. Be patient it will come.

Dude, you can't tell people who have forked over £650+ for a gpu to be patient after getting zero info. OCUK have sold the product and took full money up front. They have an obligation to keep the customer informed. You wouldn't go into a shop and give them £2 for a bottle of coke to be told to come back another time
for it.

You know to use the form, I refunded by it and it was very quick. Why phone them when you know the phone lines are bursting at the seams. God there is some entitlement going on.

Entitlement? Are joking me? People have paid a lot of money for these cards. Could be a years savings for some. The LEAST they are entitled to is good customer service.

No one to blame for being swamped but themselves. They've oversold these cards and still continue to. Do they expect all 7000+ people to just sit and wait?

Perhaps they do. I've been waiting for a few days for my cancellation to be confirmed and considering the circumstances will give OcUK a full seven working days as they are no doubt overwhelmed. I'd agree with that except for the fact that they take your money straight away. You shouldn't have to wait 7 days just for them to kick off the cancellation.

i also suspect this queue jumping is also why OC cant/wont produce an official queue list, as it would make people pretty mad seeing their place in it being pushed further and further back as people change their minds on what card they want based on the latest failure reports on YouTube.

Out of curiousity could you let us know how you switched to a different card? Did OC assure you that your order time was still valid? We've heard mixed things about that.
