On Queue Jumping, a Thought Experiment:

Everyone who ordered popular card A on launch day decides to switch and jump in front of the people who ordered less popular card B four days later. Now there's no one waiting for card A, so the people who originally ordered card B, seeing that they will otherwise have to wait much longer, decide to switch to card A. They will now go back to getting a card before the people who originally ordered card A. This is unacceptable to the people who originally ordered card A, so they decide to switch back to card A, forcing the people who originally ordered card B to the back of the queue for card A. Seeing this, the people who originally ordered card B decide to switch back to their original order of card B, and now we are all back to where we started. The moral of the story? That, dear reader, I leave for you to decide.

FYI, it seems that another retailer has updated their page with 3080 status. It seems that a lot of the cards are delayed coming in to them. I can't imagine its just them who are experiencing shipping delays.

Is anyone else in the position of never having received an order confirmation email? I contacted CS but they told me that my order was on their system and it was just because their email system imploded and I would get one soon, that was 10 days ago though.

that’s the problem with putting up expected dates they can allways slip and if you do t post expected dates people want a date retailer’s can’t win :)

They sure can. For example don't accept 10k+ orders if u can't even supply 1/10 of this in next 2 months

I have been following this thread since launch day, but decided to make an account as I received some info that I think may be worth sharing.

My original order was made on the 17th, around 15:13 for the EVGA XC3 Black - I had been refreshing since 2pm and after multiple empty baskets and 2 payment failures i got my order through.
The important part to this is that as part of my order I also ordered a new screen, not expecting the stock levels to be as low as they seem to be and the delay for EVGA cards, I was happy to wait a short while for both the Card and the screen to come together.

However, with everything that has been going on with shortages and lack of info around new stock deliveries, I thought I would wait it out for the card but get a screen from somewhere else in the meantime.
I got in touch with CS on Saturday via webform, asking about removing the screen from my order which was an ASUS TUF screen and if this would affect me in the queue for my EVGA XC3 Black.

Now from reading on here and the response I got from CS, there looks to have been a lot of people swapping card orders - as their response included information about swapping cards. They must be on auto pilot for responses and seen TUF and got them mixed up.
Note I did not want to swap cards, I wanted and need the EVGA XC3 Black due to its dimensions - no other card will work apart from maybe the FE or potentially the Inno3d Twinx2 - so not only was I surprised by their response for mentioning swapping cards but also it did worry me that maybe that meant my order would be on hold till I responded. I have confirmed in my response that I still want my original card, but just the screen removed - so lets hope it does not affect me in the queue at all.

Anyway, the info I wanted to share in the CS response - remember I am not trying to pull a fast one, I do not even want a swap - but I think its valuable info for those waiting in the queue that it looks like others could be pushed in front of you if they decide to swap.
Would be great to have OCUK respond clearly on this matter to clear it up for everyone.

This is pretty bad business practice

Just for clarity there is no queue... there are a massive load of orders for products that are not in stock... as stock comes in it simply goes to the oldest order with one of those items in it.

Not saying that's right, but without a proper queueing system that's always going to be the way it goes.

So... oldest order on the system for said item gets it first. Sounds awfully like a product queue to me?

That's just BS. So someone could check the unofficial queue and pick card that was ordered least and boom card shipped in next 2 weeks

FWIW ****** was no better. I put my 3080 order with them at 14:24 on launch day, only to be in "we can't find your order" support hell and them finally refunding me rather than sticking me in a 'fair' spot in the queue so now I'm an overclocker, with a blazing geforce 570 I got off ebay for £10 (sold my 2080 for more than a 3070 price a few weeks ago).

This whole situation is a massive fail, and I'm sure OCUK (and ******, really) are just doing their best, but please OC team, try to get some type of information on stocks (expected, arrived, queue size before my order) so people can look up what they're in for, mid-october or mid-2021 or somewhere inbetween.

Curious what the order calculator situation is as I have not had an email, but my order is on my account. Thing is the number doesn't start with a "58" rather OC40 being the first 4 digits as shown on my order history. Entering my order number into the calculator returns the response that it "must be an order number" !?!
I'm not after some super accurate estimate, but would be nice to see if we're talking weeks...months !?
