NVIDIA ‘Ampere’ 8nm Graphics Cards

I posted in the other thread but I will post here as well.

Just tested my palit 3080 on new drivers and clocks are higher than it was before.

Its now at 2000 and it stays a straight line when it's not stressed. Before this used to be all over the place even on ult tab.

When it's running a game clocks are up and down same as before.

Anyway I'm happy with the update, I was worried they were going to nerf the clocks but I gained a bit and it's more stable.

Also it seems card is running cooler now.

Thankfully I have not. I've heard it, it's beyond irritating hearing it from other peoples systems. I love silence. So who cares does not apply here.
 
There are varying degrees of coil whine too. Most cards have it to some degree, but not all scream so loudly that you can clearly hear it over what you're doing (or even at all in a closed case). Changing PSU has never done anything to help it for me either, which is one of the most common suggestions for dealing with it. If it's not the PSU that's making the noise, it's not going to do anything. An R9 Nano was the worst I've had it, which seems to be a common issue with that specific card. Every video of them on Youtube shows them buzzing away like crazy. Entire reason I got rid of mine.

Cheers, but could you run it uncapped maybe and see what the average is? I'm trying to see how far it goes at 4K so that I can extrapolate 5K performance from it. Well, if you can turn on DSR and run at 5K that would be even better! :D

Yeah I will try some 4k uncapped tomorrow. The game seems pretty good.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a lot of fun. There's some jankiness to it but the way it handles, the dismemberment system, and the overall atmosphere is just top notch. The first one was less open but because of that they actually had the image quality even higher, it looks crisp AF.

I will initially go for the x16/x8 configuration. If I’m not happy, I’ll go for the Quadro NVLINK bridge next year. Perhaps companies like EVGA or MSI will come up with a 3-slots bridge before 2021.

Let us know if you got it working, i have asked around a bit and it seems sli has been killed, only dx12/Vulcan mgpu is supported
