The bare minimum especially with your i9 what's another £100?No skimping champ when nividia recommend a 750 plus it was OK on my previous gpu. Thanks though.
Just checked the Nvidia site for the Recommended System Power for the RTX 3090 and it states 750W with an I9 10900k, so the op should be ok on the power front.
Check for yourselves.

Edit: it may not solve your problem but worth considering
Congrats on your card - nice one.
Did you use something like DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) to clean the drivers before installing new card? I don't think PSU would cause hitching, more likely a crash. Worth doing driver clean, and free.

Get the psu and join the mile high clubOnly reason I haven't gone completely gaga and gone with an in-stock 3090 is my ****ing 650w PSU![]()
Tbh i'm using a 750W EVGA GQ gold rated psu and its perfectly fine. I'm pulling around 580-600w at the wall full tilt which gives me some measure at least so i know i have head room. What psu would you recommend 1000w?

Despite what everyone says, you really don't need a 1000w psu for a 3090... its madness.
Is this with raytracing on or not?
Throttling power as your PSU is below recommended specs is a possibility. Nvidia recommends atleast 850w with a i9 chip.
Yeah pal everything on.
also probably good to have an 850 plus for the OC aib 3090s.
