*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

Typically 6 weeks from China with customs clearance at the EU end.

If you want it quick then 3-5 days for airfreight, but the cost increase is significant.

I don't know what the sums are for these sort of goods for volumetric weight but for our industry airfreight is about £6.00 per KG it's up about 100% because of the lack of passenger aircraft whereas sea has went up from £0.21 - £0.80 kg. But the bigger sting is that felixstow is charging per container for ships unloading without taking the same amount back as and some ships are part unloading then moving on with the unloaded cargo.

Or 16 days by train direct from China to London which no one seems to have heard about.

LOL that's funny! Foxconn have their own town with around 400000 people working for them. A simple low density board like a GPU is nothing to them, they can turn out iphone boards which are much more complex by the million. Their production figures are mind boggling - any bottleneck is certainly not a board stuffing factor with RTX30xx .

Most likely rushed launch, as indicated by pitiful stock and critical issues with GPUs (crashing problem) combined with 3080 being first worthwhile update from 10xx series, makes you wonder if AMD really has something up their sleeve so Nvidia rushed because of that, or they just simply ****** up.

I've heard about that but I've not kept up I know that China plan to build a railway that basicly follows the silk road but I guess that will take some years to complete.

I think it’s fair to say that they wanted to launch prior to both AMD and the consoles, which in turn ended in a rush. The problem they have now is whether they can actually provide stock for their cards over the other launches, which now is fairly questionable.

Rushing the launch makes more money. This way they can produce to demand, rather than to speculative market research, they don't have warehousing costs, less leaks. Theres are studies confirming that a rushed product makes more money than a polished one. Think EA games for example.

On top of that theyhave a massive hype doing the marketing for them. Nothing is more desireable than a product you can't have.

Asus said they were flying in new stock if that helps rather than shipping it.
I'd imagine most if not all manufacturers are. If something in this world is going to be sent by air freight it's highly likely it would be small cuboid boxes with a sale value of £650-1800 a pop.

It also says on their Twitter that Overclockers is not a direct customer of EVGA, while other competitors are. What does this mean for us? Less stock coming to Overclockers and their customers? Seems pretty up in the air atm

Depends it could mean more if OCUK has a good relationship with the Distro, or it could mean very small. We just have to wait and see unfortunately

@Lastof, Just added my order to the database.

MSI Gaming X Trio ordered 22:26 on the 30 Sept. Queue No. 1412. This is the latest order I have seen posted, so hopefully gives people some sort of reference.

The best I can hope for is to have it by easter :)

Do not trust the hobbit, he's trixy and false. He want's the cards for himself!

“But Gollum, dancing like a mad thing, held aloft the RTX 3080, a finger still thrust within its circle.
"Precious, precious, precious!" Gollum cried. "My Precious! O my Precious RTX3080!" And with that, even as his eyes were lifted up to gloat on his prize”
