I wouldn't even want to guess what my queue position is since my order only officially got confirmed on Monday for a Asus Tuf OC, would be nice to be given even a eta, even if its not going to arrive this year. Had to get a gtx 1660 just to tide me over for a few months which I'm guessing is probably a good move right now

Managed to get on and order at 17:43 on the 17th, got 731 in the queue for a Gigabyte Eagle OC and been lurking since launch. The lack of any info from literally anywhere regarding shipping to the UK is slightly worrying tbh.

When i ordered the gaming oc. Within 15 mins of you the site claimed they were in stock 10+.

I'm somehow number 98 in the queue, huge discrepancy

Part of me wishes I had gone for a vision, the white would really finish off my white setup.
But at the time they went up, had no idea on a shipping date and didnt want to give up my place in the queue for a None OC TUF.

Same. Was hoping for news on updated queue positions since cards have been shipped (Im waiting for Ventus, seems quite a few shipped yesterday) but so far no updates.

I guess OCUK wouldn't want to jeopordise their position as one of the biggest and oldest NVIDIA partners and therefore not be one of the first companies to get stock

It doesn't seem to have done them much good so far!

I think it's getting dangerously close to confirming that OCUK won't be collecting any of the Palit shipments that was supposedly supposed to arrive sometime last week to early this week.

I thought they'd shipped them last week? From what I've seen posted here, there should be another shipment on Friday. So hopefully OC gets some. After that, it's going to be a 2-4 week wait :/

This is my 2cent on the whole situation, the 3000's series have been a disaster for Nvidia.
They decided to go with Samsung which was there first massive mistake, this made the cards draw way too much, power needing expensive cooling and clock slower than the Turing cards on TMSC.
And for what to get a slightly better deal, with worse yields and possibly delayed wafers.
Another obvious mistake was not giving AIB's any amount of time to truly test the chips and we all know the **** fest that happened next. Again more delays as cards were pulled back for more testing and hardware changes.
But it's fine , it was a driver issue all along, but AIB's didn't seem to acknowledge this, what a joke that could have easily been avoided.
So what we got in there top card the 3090, a 24gb 8k card that doesn't overclock due to going with Samsung and having very few binned chips and pulls a ridiculous amount of power, for what 10-15 more fps LOL

I don't think I've ever read such nonsense! And I speak as someone who worked on the production side of a silcon wafer fab back when we still had some. The design of the chip is exclusively by Nvidia, after that it doesn't matter which wafer fab produces it, with these geometries it either works or it doesn't and there should be very little variance between manufacturers.

So far as yields go it's obviously commercially confidential, but what evidence there is out there suggests yields are perfectly fine.

One thing you might want to consider is this, Ampere is not a GPU, it is a generic technology by Nvidia which has been adapted to become a GPU, and it is used for several other products made by Nvidia. Cards for AI, supercomputers, servers etc and those cards cost an awful lot more than a GPU does, in other words there is more profit for Nvidia in satisfying commercial IT demand than there is in what is for them a sideline in graphics cards. Ampere has been in production since at least Q1 this year if not in GPU form and that's plenty of time to get the yields up. If there is a bottleneck in GPU chip production then it's either because they didn't start production soon enough, or because they decided to limit production while they pursued more profitable product lines.
