AMD have always been truthful with their benchmark results. Too many people looking for drama tbh.
3080 performance ±10 is good enough for me, but I'm more curious about software innovations & pricing & of course the most important - availability.
The new card is very well engineered from where I'm standing its a big improvement in performance at an efficient power consumption with a good Vram option - the opposition had to push their cards to an inch of their overclocked lives to get a nose infront in performance so much so they were black screening before an update, consume ridiculous amounts of power and are lacking in Vram - they even had to launch their cards before there was any real stock availability just get ahead of AMD.
There will probably be availability for Navi if only because everyone and their dog have pre-ordered Nvidia - of course they were showcasing their top card why would they gimp their own CPU launch by using an inferior card? They may not have named it (they dont' want a GPU reveal before the official GPU reveal) but it makes no sense to cripple their own presentation. Theres speculation based on sound reasoning and then theres wishful thinking and all this nonsense about beating a 3090 is just that.
3080 performance ±10 will do nicely thanks but availability is indeed key.
