I do find it odd that the included cable is UBS-C. I'm sure the 11 came with USB-A to lightning, meaning the majority of people won't have USB-C bricks they can use.

The 11 was A to lightning buthe 11 pro was C to lightning

I actually think it makes a lot of sense.

It's all based on the assumption that the vast majority of customers will already have an iPhone and thus will already have chargers and lightning cables they can use.
In that case why not provide a new USB-C cable that people can use, either with a USB-C port on a PC or laptop, which are becoming increasingly prevalent, or with a wall charger they may already have or can buy from apple for £19, and gain fast charging support to boot.

Not to mention all Apples computers are covered in USB-C as are most other manufacturers chargers.

It was a bit of a running joke up until now that you couldn’t connect your brand new iPhone to your MacBook without a dongle.

Hopefully this will put more people off ordering tomorrow :D

Haha :)

Anyone thinking about switching network provider should check out this list which shows what each supports. EE comes top and O2 is second - coverage is another matter however.

Probably sticking with EE.

Also, if you enjoy football then EE is providing some AR stuff with their plans.

In before “Do you work for EE!?”. Nope! Just think they’re best suited for iPhone owners if you want to get all the benefits.

I've been on EE for years and really can't fault them. Never the cheapest option but the most reliable and generally "solid" provider I've had.

Ironically I've always gone SIM-only and buy the phone outright for maximum flexibility (plus I don't like signing up for £50+ a month for two years) yet I never switch from EE anyway.

I’m not buying this year, I got the 11 Pro last year so have little excuse.

That said, if I was this year then it would be the standard 12. I just don’t see £150 in value by going to the 12 pro. Last year it was all about the OLED, the telephoto just doesn’t do it for me, I hardly use it on the 11 pro and the wide and ultra wide are more than good enough at this point.

Does anyone else struggle with the value proposition of the 12 pro compared to the 12?

Yep, if you care about photography that much, you'd go for the Max. Otherwise the you don't care about photography that much, the 12 is excellent.

Yeah agreed, I never used the telephoto on my 11 Pro Max anyway. However there are likely to be other things at play too - for example the max brightness on the Pro is supposedly higher than the standard (although both have the same max brightness for HDR) and also, the Pros are rumoured to have 6GB of RAM whereas the standard will likely have 4GB. Not that either of those things are a big deal on their own but there may be other examples.

128 planned here (Pro Max), I’ve subscribed to a 200GB family sharing plan with iCloud so don’t need more than the base spec.

I'll go 64Gb, I've got 128Gb on my 6s with 91Gb free...

I'll use more on the 12 given the better image quality etc so pictures will be bigger..

Agreed. As an IP11 Pro user the telephoto lens is awful. The ultra wide angle is also unusable in low light conditions. The front facing camera is also terrible to the point I now take selfies with the rear facing camera which has nice natural and subtle bokeh without all that portrait mode nonsense.

Even then, the image processing is ultra aggressive and ruins so many photos with over sharpening. I wonder if the new Proraw thing will help there.

I get where you're coming from, there is far less distinction between the Pro and non-Pro compared to last year, but I will be going Pro.

To my mind, it's only another 18% on the price and gives better looks, better camera and more RAM.

I'll get the 128GB 12 Pro, I have a 32GB iPhone 7 with the 50GB iCloud plan, and I'm nowhere near full. If there was a 64GB 12 Pro option I would have gone with that.

The only thing is the camera on this for video recording will be better than my camcorder so I'll probably sell that, so shooting 4k60 will take up a lot of space, I'll have to see.
