*** NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3090 SERIES STOCK SITUATION - NO COMPETITOR DISCUSSION ***

I have cancelled my preorder at 319 for Strix OC 3090 if anyone was below that.

After the latest post I don't think getting the 3090 before CP2077 so had to get a Founders Edition by less honourable means.
I'll get a 3090 Strix OC next year when there isn't such a massive wait for them.

I did something similar saw a fe on mm gonna cancel my stirx tbh saves me 500 quid extra 250 buy in qnd 250 on block and plate. Gonna wait it out till 7nm tsmc rolls out

Your right, from what I can see the FE is running nice and quiet anyway. I almost think that Nvidia have punked the AIBs by flooding the market with the FEs. Best of luck to everyone in the queues.

My fe with extra colling idles 28 and max 55

Agreed. All leaks seem to indicate that although AMD may have a faster rasterization card at each level, their card will be 20% slower in RT.

I would be more concerned about perhaps Nvidia responding with 3080ti offering 95% of the 3090 performance and maybe sub £1000 to compete. Will all depend on what price AMD pitch their 3090 competing card at. If its sub £1000, Nvidia will lose a lot of 3090 sales to it. Having paid up to £700 more for 12 Gb more memory and 5% performance that would hurt.

3080ti will be > 3090 performance IMO, probably 5-10% faster. Most likely on TSMC 7nm.

3080 and 3090 are just too close in performance for another card to slide between, plus will make Nvidia look the good guy again, sub £1000 card faster than the £1400 3090 etc.

3090 was dead on arrival in my eyes, very happy I cancelled my 3090 Strix OC, especially with CB delay news.

Would be good, fancy a 3080 ti for less than £1000, I'm sure it will come one day.

Nvidia have really made it awkward to make a 3080ti that is faster than 3090.
I could see it if it was a titan, and this has happened before. But to have a card with a lower number in the stack out perform at stock the card above, I have never seen. I think if they do bring out something quicker from 7nm, surely it would be a 3090ti :)

Damn i got holiday booked for 1 week from 19 of november coz cyberpunk so i guess i can cancel that and book at december right? What day is planed for december that cyberpunk?

Yes it was on my order page

Direct from EK, ordered on 18th October and received delivery date - 5th Nov on my order page. gutted that my strix oc not here yet and hope it will arrive around same time.

I just contacted EK today about my order placed on 24th Sept and have been told all pre orders are now 3rd / 4th week of November.

I think there will be a 3090 Titan with a fully open gpu with 21GB DDr6X ram

ouch strix 3090 is poss the best card out! 480watt power limit and hopefully soon to be 500 with new beta bios!
will make mince meat of the others

It still is the best card even at 480W. The EVGA 500W bios still locks the EVGA FTW3 Ultra to 450W as its hardwired into the card. Strix users have flashed the EVGA bios onto their cards and gained from it. EVGA have really shot themselves in the foot with their FTW cards this time. Even MSI 3 pin cards are pulling 500W and smashing every FTW3 Ultra cards in the benchmark charts.

Yeah they told me mid November in my most recent ticket.....I have however managed to get them to send the rest of my order without having to pay shipping twice, as splitting the order meant both portions were under the threshold for free delivery.

This is what they said to me.

I have conversed with our shipping manager and product managers to see if I can get a better estimate on your order's shipping date. The date I was given was November 13th. I hope this still works for you. You still should receive your items before resllers in the UK according to this information.

and then

I'll see if I can do anything to accommodate your request. The delay is due to sourcing and manufacturing issues as one of our parts suppliers was unable to provide us with the needed parts for in time manufacturing and we were thus forced to postpone the release. This had to be done, as we did not want to release an unfinished product.

Should the block and backplate be postponed yet again, which is unlikely at the moment, I am sure that our leadership would think of some form of compensation.

I wonder if the 'issue' was anything to do with Linus' video a few days ago where they had to file a EK strix waterblock down to avoid it fouling on some capacitors :D

This is still being established at the moment, isn't it? It seems some users are pulling over 450W and some aren't. I don't think EVGA would get as far as releasing a BIOS for something that couldn't physically draw enough power to meet the limit, but it's certainly weird that owners of other cards are having better results than some actual FTW3 owners. I've been reading it with interest because I have a 3090 FTW3 on order. To be fair though, it seems Ampere gets very inefficient at this level of power draw anyway, so silicon quality is more of a factor for final performance. Even if it turns out that 450W is the hard limit on the EVGA card, I'll probably keep my order in rather than join the back of the queue for a Strix or similar.

Because of the small gap in 3080TI and 3090 they must keep a difference. That will be about 1000 cores, but the big thing will be vram. They will put 12GB in the TI (16 might be too much) meaning that if you want 8k and rendering you still need the 3090, thus leaving a reason for the 3090 to exist.

If the 6900XT is wow, I can see a 3090TI on 7mm late next year, just to keep the fastest card title, but if AMD fall short, they might not go with a 3090TI, leave the 7mm thing as a selling point of the 4000s.....but then again, Nvidia does like there TIs and Supers.

I think some cards blip over the 450W mark and it can allow that sometimes but other card manufacturers are getting a solid constant 500W pull with the bios with peaks up to 530W. No EVGA card is yet to come close to that unless you have shunt modded it.

That was enough for me to removed a FTW3 Ultra 3090 in stock from my basket. That and the fact no waterblocks are due this side of xmas.

I can see why you'd do that. As you say, unless an update to this "XOC" BIOS sees the EVGA cards doing as well as the other brands then EVGA have massively shot themselves in the foot. It's supposedly a beta, so I'll be interested to see if they fix it.
