Been after one of these for weeks and missed out again.

BUT gotta say if RDNA2 announcement is accurate then I would be happy to actually have waited, particularly for the “shared memory” if you already have a Ryzen 5000 series.

Was it timed release around the AMD announcements, those cards look a lot better than I was expecting, prefer Nvidia for my GFX though...

Agreed. I'm on Intel so I think at 4k with a direct comparison the 3080 will still come out ahead.

Even if it didn't, it won't be worth getting bent out of shape over it. I have zero buyer's remorse after today's announcement. I could be tempted to trade up to the 5900XT in the new year, but that's really dependant on price, performance and availability.

Seems I also managed to snag one. Payment authorized but not yet picked (shipping to Ireland); as others, I'll only fully believe it when I have it booted in a system...

It's worth noting for the ones still stuck with the F5-game, Distill, Alert channels and the rest of the bullkshit and stress we're faced with to depart with our money; I did not see the nVidia page change either for the 3080, thus my own Distill did not tick off at all as I only checked for 3080 and not 3090. I got the direct link working through an invite-only Telegram channel at the same time as a Legend also posted it on r/nvidia which also contained the direct link.

After the order was placed, 3090 had "Check Availability" which brough one to the fullfiller's site, but the 3080 had nothing for a while (not even "out of stock").

Now here's hoping I can get secure a Zen 3 coupled with an X570 board from OC next week as the final pieces of the "major upgrade puzzle", the rest is already on order

Just as I was typing out a reply to this to say that holding one's breath never to be a good idea, "picked" confirmation just ticked in alongside Watchdog and GF Now promo codes... I.. I think we might've done it!

So you picked up a 3090,not 3080? because while I didn't see any change at all for 3080,I noticed 3090 coming in stock on 3 occasions and remained available for minutes..but I wasn't after 3090.and that was just just by refreshing nvidia page.I even took a screenshot:

No, I got a 3080, but only through getting the direct link from elsewhere than the nVidia site; that's why I mentioned it to give the rest of you a heads up.

While I can see more hardcore enthusiasts or people with more disposable income than myself going for 3090's, I personally consider the 3090 basically being nVidia themselves scalping ;p

Can I swear here? But yeah, this ******* sucks. Those cards belong with people like those in here who simply want a new toy to fuel their hobby ;(

A 3080fe went up at 14:59 today on the bay for £1500 buy it now. Stock photo, you know where they got it from.
