What electric cars are actually available in the UK . . .

The charging point has to not be blocked by an inconsiderate **** in a rep-mobile whose paintwork is about to get scratched to hell by the charging cable when I "carefully" manoeuvre it around to try and reach my car.

This is the worst of the lot. Had one incident a few months back with a chap eating his lunch in his van, blocking the charger, in an almost empty car park. When I asked if he'd move, I got a "No. I park here every day to show you lot why you shouldn't buy such stupid cars"

I'll throw in a fifth problem; you get to a charger and find there's no way you can plug in because it was installed by an idiot. The Engenie charger at Moreton Arms, Wolverhampton, is a great example. The charger is installed between two parking spaces, but half way down the space. The cable isn't long enough to reach the front of the Leaf, regardless of which way you're facing. The only possible way to use it is to park across several parking spaces...

Lol, what an in-bred ape, maybe the government could recoup some of the grant money by introducing legislation to fine idiots like this who use charging spaces but aren't charging (that includes EV drivers who think it's their own private parking space even when they have no intention of charging)

Ordered a Polestar 2 via company car scheme - hoping to it's not going to be too delayed but expecting october timeframe for delivery.

Don't get me wrong, they look (to me) nicer then a Tesla, but £50k list price - ouch.

PS. By chance, did you place the order this morning after receiving a "You're eligible email" - if so, we probably work at the same place. :D

I’m not sure if it’s still running (especially with the virus) but BMW offered a hand in scheme for long distance drives. It seemed an attractive option when I was looking at an i3.

Nope, ordered last week after cancelling a tesla 3 order. I had to play a upfront 750 quid contribution for the car, vs 3100 quid for the base spec model 3 so made sense to me - it swallows up the full of my car allowance so i miss out on about 290 net a month in place of having a fully maintained, insured car. Obviously I will have some company car tax but compared to ICE it's next to nothing

Merecedes said plans for the electrification of AMG performance models will begin in 2021 and that the super-luxury Maybach line-up will double in size. In a move that's set to significantly increase its number of electrified models, the company announced that all three of its sub-brands - AMG, Maybach and G - “will go electric”.

But that's not all. A prototype electric car, called the Vision EQXX, is being developed with claims of having the 'longest electric range' and 'highest efficiency' of any EV yet produced. Although no technical information has been released for (as a teaser image suggests) the apparently swoopy two-door model, the presentation suggested a car capable of travelling from Beijing to Shanghai on one charge - that's 750 miles.

What spec have you ordered?
I’ve gone for the standard colour and the 20” option wheels. Planning to get it wrapped but haven’t decided on the colour yet.
My order was confirmed on 30th September and I’ve received an e-mail from Polestar this week stating delivery this month.

Void with Standard Wheels here - been on the phone a few times with them this week trying to get a delivery update, getting frustrating!

"The European passenger plugin vehicle market is on fire, having landed a record 160,000 registrations in September (+166% year over year/YoY). That meant that last month’s plugin vehicle share was 12% (7.1% fully electric vehicles/BEV), which pulled the 2020 plugin vehicle share to 9% (4.9% for BEVs alone). This is getting mighty close to the disruptive 10% mark. ….

So, expect next year to be #Disruption ’21!"

#2 Renault Zoe

These 150 miles range, though
They have to work to improve the batteries' capacities. What's the limiting factor there, the physical dimensions or Tesla, for example, has better technology?

And if the likes of Honda pay to Tesla to participate in its pool in order to avoid the heavy fines because of the dirty emissions, why don't they pay Tesla to use its battery technology?

Can someone explain to me...

https://www.drive-electric.co.uk/vehicles/nissan-leaf-tekna-40kwh-lease/#customise-price-anchor

"£2,430 initial rental (inc. VAT)" is that what I'd have to put down as a deposit?

And then £270 per month (inc. VAT) for 48months?

Yeah there's really no reason to get a leaf now with it's obsolete charging connector and again very obsolete technology of a non cooled battery.

You could get something like this which is a far better proposition for the same kind of money
