AMD 6800 & 6800 XT MBA LAUNCH AT 2PM TODAY - EXTREMELY LIMITED STOCK!

All of the information that we have currently suggests that these models are not ever going to be restocked so holding on to your money is counterproductive for both sides.

We can't tell you anything (due to NDA) about the vendor cards and we can't deal with a nearly a thousand customers over the phone.

It would be nice to have the option to get added to a list for AIB cards next week and the pay the difference, is that possible, if so count me in ;)

Oh they are picking up but they can't realistically handle 500 calls per hour.

Fair enough, busy day! Thanks

I've been a customer for a long time, since way before being a forum member and close to when OCUK formed. I do hope you lot take from the complaints about pricing and the kind of impression you're making with customers, you've really gone from the UK must trusted place for techies and nerds to always pricing higher than others at launch.

The whole "exchange rate" excuse used when you first started doing it really doesn't hold water when its been such a consistent approach for years now. Not when so many other retailers are not doing it. We just want our old OCUK back.

Not a good look.... Is the extra money used to help Gibbo fund his expensive car habit?

Ordered 14:41, No notification, Order received not yet shipped lol... 17:34 Now, Payment complete £689 via amazon pay, I guess Im one of the unlucky ones

Shipping carries on until 19:00 and people are still getting shipping emails, stay optimistic ;)

Yeah how I would do it is instead of cancelling people, give them a coupon code that lets them order 10 mins earlier than everyone else next week.

Fair enough, well I have my fingers crossed. You guys are doing a fantastic job considering the high demand :)

@ScottiB can we get a waiting list? Even if it's not for reference cards as you said they might be one and done.
we genuinely don't have the manpower. All transactions would have to be handled over the phone and at this point we're talking about nearly a thousand customers.

I'm really sorry again, we'll let everyone know their status soon.

I'm starting to develop a headache and I definitely need to eat :p so please forgive me, I'm going to bail out shortly. Please search through my earlier responses, I think I've covered pretty much everything I can for now.

Thanks for being visible and answering questions, its appreciated. :)

Having tried to buy stuff from lots of competitors and having no luck either I guess its an industry-wide problem. Maybe some sort of third party queuing system might be good, like they use for ticket booking sites.

Seconded. Well donje ScottieB for that. Much appreciated

Just had shipping notification, Sapphire 6800XT :)

Please leave your type of card ordered and email confirmation time when you confirm this so we don't have to search back pages (potentially pointlessly)

Not really fair on the rest of us though who were also bashing F5 trying to get one, and some of us were seeing a web server that didn't have the product live on it.

Understand your frustration though, its a terrible situation, no-one wins from it.

@ScottiB can't believe that they might stop/have already stopped the reference design. Go to the trouble of designing and making a product then stop selling it before hardly anyone gets one. Makes no sense. Some of us prefer the AIB design! Feed that back to AMD if you ever get the chance.

I really don't understand the way its being done. Launch with no notice and a scrabble for stock. Why not just show the products, show the waiting lists and let people pre-order. Be transparent about stock and what's coming & when. I know this isn't in your control, this is aimed at the manufacturers and AMD. Just run a grown up process!

Thanks for popping into the thread, it’s is appreciated.

I hope so lol, I put it in my basket at around 14:12 Managed to pay MANAGED at around 14:30, No email from OCUK only amazon stating the payment is complete and OCUK saying order received not yet shipped payment was complete around 15:20

I want to be on the list to wait to get on the list of those that were out of luck today.

There's not going to be a list. It would be someone's full time job to manage that next week and juggle against stock and of course everyone else tring to order the AIB cards. You better just hope if all your money is tied up in this that you get your refunds in time to try again.

Well yeah it was an analogy

I was making the point scalpers don't 'deserve everything they get'. The amount of verbal aggression around...

Even making someone else's eBay life miserable is a ****** thing to do, just get on with your life

I'll be less of a **** if scalpers pay tax on their profits.

Hi all , I managed to get a confirmation on a powercolor 6800XT . Spoke to overclockers and the guy said its not a guarantee I have one even though the money has gone and I have a confirmation , if I wasn't lucky enough ill get a refund . He also said there won't be any other founders cards so if you didn't get one of these you won't be in a queue atall :( waiting game , good luck all .

Yeah it's a consistent refrain whenever OC is brought up as an option for purchase on any group (outside the forum obv). "Don't buy from them"

If the launch quantities are so low, then it's not even that much more cash.

Part of the reason a certain tax-avoiding site got so big is that they consistently did what was best for the customer, at the expense of extra profit (though admittedly now they just do whatever they want).
