yes it would. YTs algorythm works based on views, length of views and likes. So you're more liekly to be put onto the front page with a large interaction - which comes from being first out of the gate.
one or two days late and as it's been said, interest drops off as benchmarks and optinions are aggregated from the front runners.

To be honest all these reviewers can kick and scream, and stamp their feet as much as they want but in reality they need a launch day FE card more than Nvidia needs them. If a reviewer boycotts Nvidia it will make zero impact to Nvidia's sales but could lose that reviewer a lot in launch day advertising revenue. Its the old biting the hand that feeds you analogy?
And before you start with the 'people won't buy Nvidia because of their shady business practices' I don't think they will be worried about the handful of people of a forum who morally object to the way they do business and buy AMD. At the end of the day their cards are still sold out everywhere and every card that comes into stock is instantly sold out so clearly they are doing something right!

Disagree. They don't need Nvidia, they can buy the cards themselves. The Hardware Unboxed response video addresses your specific point, they've found card review videos get better views when released 3 or 4 days after launch because there are loads released at the same time on launch day.

They probably didn't expect it would cause this ****storm but rather figured the techtubers would just take it in the A so they could keep feeding from the green teet of Jensen
I think Nvidia majorly underestimated the blow back they would get from pulling this stunt.

Yes they can but they wont have a card in hand before to review and get there review up on launch day which is when the most hits and views is going to be! This will directly affect revenue no doubt about it!! He can say what he likes about views days after the launch but I take that with a pinch of salt and I bet you tube views on launch day tell a different story.

Tbh I am thinking one of the PR team typed this up, and rubber stamped it with BDR's name. There will be excuses made, and a suitable sacrificial lamb made to the altar.
But congratulations to Nvidia, they've might have started the groundworks for a coalition amongst tech reviewers.

I honestly think they have retracted to keep the peace and kill the story. Are they worried about it and massively concerned no. Is a multi billion dollar company going to be concerned about one reviewer on the web not at all. As previously mentioned their products are selling out faster than they can make them and they are pulling in the profits, and ultimately although some people might start going on about morally boycotting them etc when it comes down to it those same people will end up buying a card based on price/performance like they have always done rather than their supposed opposition to shady business practices.
Now don't get me wrong I am not agreeing with what Nvidia did but in the grand scheme of things it is nothing more than a storm in a teacup and is not going to hurt them in the slightest! As long as those profits keep rolling in they will be happy!
Did you even read the reply given to you? HWU is saying for their specific channel they get more hits after the initial launch day with products because the watch base is segmented as they go possibly to other places first and then to their reviews and so they actually see an increase in the following days compared to their first day. This makes sense for a number of reasons but you are dismissing the persons own channel review and such for your opinion which is daft to say the least.
In fairness I am of view it was very much an underling of the PR team that did indeed type up, however I think to claim you would send otherwise with BDR's name woudl be rubbish since I suspect he would have a personal email address to email from rather than some random PR email address and thus that would be easy way to see whom actually sent it. If it was underling would be from their email or generic, if direct from BDR it would be his and thus he would have read it or should have and if so then he still needs to shoulder a large portion of the blame.
I think Nvidia need to keep bad press down to a minimum until the closing and final approvals for their ARM buyout are done..

Yes I did read it and just as I am not about to believe anything Nvidia say, I am not about to just believe something a business reviewer says either. Everything in the Nvidia email will have been carefully planned and constructed by the Nvidia PR team as will the response that HWU put up. This whole episode has been great advertising for them pushing up views and increasing their subscriber base. Hell the proof is the fact that Linus and Jay also came out with significant videos condemning Nvidia. You would have to be extremely naive to believe that they did that out of the kindness of their hearts or to show solidarity with HWU, they did it for the same reasons to increase views to their pages and sites and to increase their subscriber base.
However I think we have lost sight of my original point which is that Nvidia will not care about a single reviewer ranting or not, they will still continue to make their profit regardless as people will still continue to buy their products. I honestly feel they issued a retraction just to kill the story off as will we still be talking about this in a weeks time? Most likely not and it will have faded into the background.
I find GN boring and his one tone voice pushes me to turn off after a bit..

I get something from all of them though I do tend to agree with you in that I will probably now go to HU first to see if they've covered something I'm researching.
Lol alright then mr cynical. Honestly none of what happens helps Nvidia in any way as a company and is purely bad press and if anything highlights the limited user case of RTX and DLSS currently. Indeed the whole episode has been great for content creators and viewership etc, as well as the support from others being good for that too but that really doesn't change that I honestly don't believe for a second that Nvidia thought it was going to go down that way. But I am also not as cynical to think at least Linus meant what he said at the same time.
