Just be a little bit careful with that line of thinking because they are selling you those cameras as if you are trade.
Sorry yes, I meant that, as in you won't have normal consumer buyer's rights.

Hi guys. Don't want to high-jack thread but could anyone recommend an affordable outdoor CCTV camera? One that ideally doesn't have a paid subscription service and is affordable so under £50.
Thanks.
Buy cheap buy twice.
Yi do ones that accommodate sd cards but it's honestly just worth paying a local independent to get dahua or hikvision setup done properly covering multiple angles and access points.
My mate got the best cameras available full set up for £600 for 4 outdoor cameras.
I completely agree with the sentiment but I can't buy the best cameras available for £600 and I'm trade.
I’ve just hooked up an IP camera streaming to NAS and looking for advice on where to position it.
Ideally, I want to mount it on the easiest thing- a wooden shed, where it can get power from inside the shed but obviously be mounted outside.
My concern is that, if someone were to come in to the back garden, it would be obvious and easy to throw something over or simply rip off.
Is it enough of a deterrent that someone would see it before/soon after getting in to the garden?
The video is being streamed onto a server in the house, so if they destroy/steal the camera, I have all the footage.
Thanks for any advice!
I have a bungalow so putting them high up is a PITA but I have one in the garage facing the road - I mounted it inside the garage with the front through the facia board above garage door - all you see is a 1" of the camera sticking out and I glued the rain screen that was on the top of camera above the camera cut down in length of course- it is reachable but also doesn't atract attention.
Yeh in fairness I noticed someone nearby has an obvious wireless camera at practically head height on top of their fence facing into their garden.
If someone wanted to, they could walk up to it and rip it off and it's not even facing them.
I think I'll mount it inside the shed poking out a little or something so that it's less obvious / less easy to steal.
I went with this one from the place that everyone buys everything these days:

Very happy with it.
After some quick research, I found that it's recommended to go with ONVIF-compatible.
It was pretty easy to set up and I'm using Shinobi on a Raspberry Pi as my main control, but the iPhone app the camera recommends in the installation manual also works well.
For basic interface on Windows, I use ONVIF Device Manager.
How much are they? I'm not after anything fancy hence the £50 budget. I've had a quick nosy for home CCTV and it seems a minefield for similar products and good/bad reviews.
Hi,
I'm a little bit off topic so please bear with me.
I got 3 Bosch Divar AN 3000 (hybrid DVR). All in bad shape (fan broken, etc.) but there is hope. I would like to make some CCTV for my parents.
However the biggest problem I face is the admin password reset. I do not have any password yet.
Does someone know how to restore the factory defaults on a DIVAR 3000 (erasing current data/recordings and settings) ?
I must say that it's not a DIVAR IP 3000 but a DIVAR AN 3000.
I tried pulling out the battery for hours, pushing the reset button while powering on, booting without battery, pushing the reset button for 30s, the Dahua password generation tool (some Bosch are made by Dahua).
At no use...
So if someone knows the procedure and can communicate it I will be very gratefull.
Regards,
