RTX 3*** Super and 4*** cards in 2022

I think the 3060 Super will fill the performance gap between 3060 and 3060 TI and make the 6600XT obsolete if they price it the same, if they give the 3070 and 3080 more RAM then that will be a positive. All will be LHR so hopefully there will be more availability. Personally looking forward to the RT advancements with RTX4000.

Don't think there is any shortage of packaging ATM.

As to logistics, there are plenty of airlines (it is not like they have a lot of work ATM) who would be delighted to fly a cargo load of Graphics cards out of the far east.

Nope this mess is all down to NVidia, AMD, TSMC, Samsung etc who are making huge profits out of this shortage.
 
I think Intel's Arc GPUs are the most interesting thing to come, in the near term.

If they could price the top model at £400 (with or without 16GB of VRAM), and it performs close to a RTX3070, it would be smash the competition, especially at 1080p/1440p. If they can't produce enough though, prices could easily be £600 or higher. Maybe there will be some reference models sold by Intel directly?
 
So 3080 Ti which released in June, A mere 3 months ago, Being replaced by a "3080 Ti Super" only 6 months after the Ti was released... Nvidia have no respect for their customers.
 
The world has become one big misinformation machine and it is all about profit / power and greed. Billionaires just want MORE.
 
Last time I bought a Graphics card was 18 November 2020.

Until things improve in the GPU market I will try very hard not to buy another.

nvidia only? Did you forget how amd screwed Radeon vii owners? It took just 3 months for the Radeon VII to get replaced by the cheaper 5700xt
 
Wonder how many remember this video from AMD too.. The Radeon vii was a bad joke, never got drivers fixed and quickly got removed from sale.



Nvidia has never had respect for its customers when it comes to pricing and bringing out slight bumps for their previous cards of the same generation (aka supers and ti), just like intel did many times with cpus (look at their 11 (11900k) series cpus now that are basically worse than their 10 (10900k) series and AMD just pretended it was siding with customers and gamers when they were behind in cpus and gpus, their true colours are out now, look at the joke that is a 6600xt it's nothing more than a 5700xt performance of over 2 years ago for the same price but really more expensive in the new gpu market we are in, because even the 5700xt had a price drop not long after it came out.

This post sums up how clueless most folk are.

So are you saying that they shouldn't bring out a better and more efficient model that's more value for money it should focus on their older sku's instead?

The supers have always been the better buy historically.

The 1070ti was the best card from the 10 series and it was launched a couple of years after the 1070.

The 2070 super was the best card from the 20 series in terms of value for money and again was launched later on in the line up.

1650 super and 1660 super again launched later and much better in terms of value for money.

Now folk are demanding they go backwards and not make this move again?
 
They will produce Super versions of cards that have been out for a year or two because people will still go out and buy them, almost regardless of the cost. Whilst the market keeps lapping up everything that's shoved at them despite the insane prices, nvidia and amd will keep trotting this sort of stuff out.
 
I couldn't care less about new GPUs during a shortage.

Once everything is back to normal and the AIBs can afford to sell at normal prices them I'll hunt down a bargain and start playing modern games again.

It’s more of a case of what’s the point in having a super that you can’t buy when the original still isn’t available. It’s all pie in the sky paper launch. They may as well launch the Nvidia six series and just say it’s not available.

You can buy it though it's just there is a supply shortage meaning there is less of a supply.

It's dumb to say if you can only produce 100k cards per month you should produce worse cards rather than better cards.

Regardless if they can supply just 1 card or 1 million it's not pointless at all. Pointless would be having the tech sitting there and doing that just sitting on it whilst churning out old sku's which are less powerful and offer less value for money.

If anyone thinks releasing a super is a bad idea they don't have a clue what they are saying.

If ocuk was to get say 10k GPU next month would you rather they got 10k older, less efficient and less powerful GPU or newer, more efficient and more powerful GPU?
