I dont think that normal EA play can preload, if I'm right the "normal" EA play/gamepass members have to wait until launch tomorrow to download and its only EA Pro/Preorders who get to preload

And for 255 posts in this thread you've been constantly singing it's praises and downplaying any negative points like it doesn't matter regardless if the negative points made affect gameplay in a bad way or are "design decisions" made purely so aspects of the game can be monetized in some way like third person takedowns which you just know that skins are going to be made for that will be sold to morons, and from a gameplay perspective these take you out of the game into an odd point of view so can in some situations affect gameplay.

It really does baffle me how you can't accept that major elements of the game have been dumbed down massively and you just play it off like it doesn't matter, when in reality it does matter and it changes the dynamic of the gameplay to a far more basic level.

I'm still going to give the game a go regardless and maybe portal mode can be a success when all the stupid design decisions like ice rink sliding and everything regenerating can be turned off.

I would disagree that I have been "constantly singing" its praises. In fact I think you (and all the other readers) will find that I've been quite balanced about it. Pretty much saying that I have my concerns but that I will wait and see. IF I had been all singing praises then I would have preordered it or be buying it on day one wouldnt I...instead I am trying it out on the 10 hour trial before making a decision. IF I had been constantly singing its praises then I would be advising other people to buy it, whereas the fact is that whenever its come up in the thread my advice has always been the same to anybody on the fence, to try it out on EA play before making a buying decision. Not really the behaviour of someone constantly singing its praises and downplaying its negative points. Conversely you havent been balanced at all, its been literally negativity from you, have you considered trying to find your happy place in life? :D

As for accepting that major elements have been dumbed down..yes I do accept that there has been some dumbing down. I have even said as much in this very thread...but let me make this clear to you again because it just doesnt seem to be sticking in your head. I FOUND THE BETA FUN. That means that I will give it a go and if I continue to find it fun I will continue to play and when I dont, I wont. Its SO SO simple..I do not care if it has been dumbed down IF the game is still fun to play, dumbing down or negative points are irrelevant to me if the positive points outway the negative, IE..do I have fun playing it. FUN is the only thing that matters to me. Truly not that "baffling" at all, actually astonishingly simple.

As for your giving the game a go, I pretty much suspect that the only reason you want to give it a go is so that you can continue with the negative posts, when someone gives something a go they should go into that with an open mind , I dont think for a moment thats what you are going to do, I think you are going to go into it with a negative viewpoint and thats going to affect any opinion you might form from the release version.
 
Well Portal seems to be getting across the board positive comments from those who have played it.

The other two modes - not so much.

Portal mode will be getting played with an open mind as its user configurable to remove the tard elements from the game and make it more like a battlefield game and not battlefield for slow learners like the base game.

Don't like my comments on the game? Then theres an ignore function you can use. Enjoy. :)

One of the reviews mentioned dice didn't show much gameplay of hazard zone as there's really almost nothing to it at all. You basically see and do everything there is to do within a minute or 2, which is sort of to be expected as its just a squad mode.

Yeah quite a few people have said that "Hazard Mode" is the weakest of the modes, which I cant say surprises me as its the one which is probably furthest removed from the BF style of play. Portal does seem generally favoured, which again is no surprise as I think most people thought Portal was going to be the big draw, especially as the traditional Conquest mode has become quite stale over the years.

More concern for you than me not liking the comments, I worry about people...its not healthy to have so much negativity about something. As my old nan used to say , "if you dont like it Tombstone, get rid of it and move on, blackness only makes life darker" :)

You haven't a clue, sliding was even in battlefield v with rubble strewn streets yet soldiers still managed to slide through it and somehow gain momentum as well as make hit detection wonky in the process. Its a mechanic that's always had issues attached to it yet they still put it in.

And if you think the dumbing down of the overall game to further entice the cod crowd is "nitpicking", you have less of a clue than I thought.

I wasnt sure about pre ordering so i was going to use the 10 hour trial via game pass pc but after seeing all the coverage of portal today im 100% convinced now so i bought the gold version, will be playing tomorrow :)
I grew up with 1942 then loved BC2 and BF3 in particular so this is a no brainer for me.
 
Same lol was going to do the 10hr trial and then buy the standard edition on the 19th......just ended up buying the gold edition and preloading now :) i didnt mind the beta though so will be enjoying 2042 as well as portal
 
Shall we just rename this thread ***The Official Tombstone & Gerard handbags discussion thread*** and start our own one for the game?
