Someone stole our Xmas tree at work!!!

Need isn't the only motive for theft, especially petty theft. Way back when I was a student I stole a traffic cone. Not because I was hard up. I was hard up, but that wasn't relevant because I had no use for the traffic cone. I did, of course, wear it as a hat for a bit. It was a fad more than anything else. Traffic cones and road signs. More than a few student residences had those as decorations at the time. Alcohol was (unsurprisingly) involved. I'd be willing to bet it was in this case too. Someone probably ~20 years old. Around midnight. Petty theft for decoration. Grinning widely. Good odds that she was a bit drunk. Or more than a bit.
Was that a yes or a no?

I don't think so but then I havn't slow mo'd it and zoomed in on the area like you seem to have, maybe increase the zoom even more then you can give us a definitive answer.
My guess is that the tape was put there because of the tree rather than because of some pre-existing hazard. Keep clear of the tree. A message that shouldn't be necessary, obviously. Anyone who could see the tape could see the tree. But the tree is a hazard (of sorts), so it might well be decided that the rules require it to be marked as such.

Hard to tell as it is potato quality but just looks like shadow, so I would say probably not.No, the still pic on the first post.

It doesn't look appealing. Not at that scale, anyway. It reminds me of a hugely magnified image of a microscropic organism. Probably some sort of parasite. Maybe that's just the extremely low picture quality.
