30xx Series Founders Edition

A while back there was a whole discussion about sag on the heavy 3090fe card.
In a nut shell, get it supported!
In a few cases, a tiny amount of sag/flex would slightly unmount the flimsy backplate from the thermal pads on the rear memory modules and cause T-junction temps to increase.

If you're concerned, or monitor those things, then no harm in getting it supported, people here have even built stands from Lego :D

Lego has many uses, from torture device to gfx card support! I have a bracket already, may just use it as a precaution anyway.

THink this thread is the one to post in, my 80 Ti arrived today and oh man is it a thing of HEFT and beauty. Emphasis on heft as this thing weighs what feels like nearly twice that of my 2070 Super Gaming OC, yet is slightly smaller in all dimensions.

There is no sag when installed either, so the sag bracket will go to the new owner of the 2070 as a freebie :p

CP2077 on the 2070 Super (3440x1440, RTX Ultra, RTX lighting on Psycho, DLSS on Quality, GFX preset on Ultra otherwise):

CP2077 on 3080 Ti with same settings:

Horizon (Ultra settings):

My CPU is breathing very nicely now. CP 2077 is the exception and highlights how much optimisation that engine lacks even still but with DLSS set to balanced I can get 60fps in it or more if I set RTX Lighting to Ultra instead of Psycho.

It IS an absolute unit!

No sag, and an absolute wonder that it booted up in my ancient X58 system!

And my 14 year old PSU hasn't blown up (yet)!

@mrk if only you knew how to take professional pictures to show off its glory! :p

I think your gonna want the ocd 12-pin cable from the modular PSU aren't you now!

Glad you're all happy and as I mentioned earlier, the FE cards don't sag. This is mine with the tempered glass removed, no sag :)

Love this card.

And yes, I did clean the dust before putting the glass back on :D

Too much blue lighting surely! :D Nice though

I spy cable clutter  :p

The adapter that comes with it seems to stealth hide away anyway so I won't bother with the single 12 pin I don't think, on this occasion I don't need to go full tidy!

Lol

The blue has bit the dust, I was aware of an ongoing zzzzz noise and assumed it was an HDD, turns out it was the Antec Spot Cool System Cooler fan, so pulled the plug on that!

Shame as it kept the ram and mobo chip cool, though I'm hoping the 3080 Ti upwards facing fan will help with that!

Had it over 14 years though, so lasted a pretty long time.

Cable clutter?

I can't see any when the side panel is on! :p

When I do my new build I'll take inspiration from yours, looks awesome!

I can't see any when the side panel is on! :p

This is a fair argument indeed! I too can't see mine when the side panel is on as it's dark tinted glass only see the lit up Geforce logo :D But then I have to bend over beside the desk to see it still!

That logo is bright!

This is mine now, minus the Antec Spot and with the side panel on.

Tad better :p

It doesn't look as red IRL, I'm not as good a photographer as you!

You can adjust the brightness and switch the logo on and off using motherboard RGB software, that's what I'm doing. I find I like it dimmer than standard.

It'd help if my mobo had any RGB software!

RGB hadn't been invented when this X58 board was made! :D

Hmm if you set the light dimming etc with software, does it save that setting to the card like the 2070 did and my old RGB RAM? I might try that I guess and just have it a bit dimmer although tbh it's fine through the dark tinted side panel as I'd uninstall the software afterwards.

Pretty sure it doesn't as it lights during boot and then switches to the set brightness or switches off once the RGB software has loaded. But, still nice to be able to control it.

I really didn't like the supplied 12 pin and I pre ordered the lian li 011 Evo so finally after 5 years will be replacing the case

That's a shame if it's not stored on the card! I shall leave as is in that case.

Their toasted GPU temps. What hot spot and junction temps are 3080tis running at?

Here's mine after running Horizon and Cyberpunk 2077:

Thanks.

I had a quick google and it seems Corsair's Icue software can control the 3080's led's!

And as I already run that for my Strafe RGB keyboard, I'll be using that.

Just got to wait for the eternity it takes to update Icue.

Also, didn't realise that the triangular led on the 3080 Ti is RGB!
