A while back there was a whole discussion about sag on the heavy 3090fe card.
In a nut shell, get it supported!
In a few cases, a tiny amount of sag/flex would slightly unmount the flimsy backplate from the thermal pads on the rear memory modules and cause T-junction temps to increase.
If you're concerned, or monitor those things, then no harm in getting it supported, people here have even built stands from Lego![]()
Lego has many uses, from torture device to gfx card support! I have a bracket already, may just use it as a precaution anyway.
