Nvidia Ampere vs AMD RDNA2, Who Won The GPU Generation (So Far)?

Any company is free to ship to any distribution hub they wish. To remain stagnant is to embrace failure, you do understand that concept? Do you genuinely think everything remains static in business?

The UK has the 5th largest economy, with a population of 68 million. Our economy is forecast to outstrip the EU in 2022. If AMD don't wish to service this market, someone will. Well they have, nvidia.

Why can nvidia support the UK market, yet AMD have failed? Its a paradox you're yet to answer.

Already answered that question over the last year, the answer is down to inventory - the console contracts taking the bulk of available wafer supply , followed by the cpu`s (data centre then retail) and finally gpu`s. Nv only sell gpu`s. Its only a few upset consumers about Digital River not shipping outside of the EU (on behalf of AMD), the other 99.99% who want to buy AMD products do so

AMD must be idiots then. Consoles sell for near cost, a waste of time, hence nvidia don't bother. AMD must be supplying sony and Microsoft for next to nothing.

Nope, look at the `semi custom` part, they are also earning from it. As with Nv, retail is the bottom of the pile. (I wonder if a shareholder can get a true breakdown of mining sales from Nv, it was managed last boom cycle)

The winners are the bloody miners. A friend wants me to build his son a decent gaming PC and cost no more than £1000. Looking once again at GPU prices, I said "no chance". Shameful prices really and for someone wanting to shift from console to PC is hard.

Yep. Th0nt (now gpuerrilla) already paid for his 3090 nearly two times over mining on it.

But Gregster, old sport. Was it not you paying ludicrous prices Titans, 2080 Ti etc happily, helping give nvidia the signal that those prices were acceptable? 3090 is not much more than what you paid for your 2080 Ti anyways :p

I said to Th0nt. How can you be buying a 3090 after giving the likes of our good old Gregster a hard time in the past. You know what he said to me?

IT'S MY MONEY!

:cry::D:cry:

Nvidia Ampere vs AMD RDNA2, Who Won The GPU Generation (So Far)?

It is far easier to answer the question "Nvidia Ampere vs AMD RDNA2, Who Lost The GPU Generation (So Far)?"

That would be us.

NVidia and AMD are making record profits so neither of them lost.

MSRP and the prices quoted is what is a joke bud. :D :D

They've both failed since you can't buy them and when you can the prices are inflated to nearly double what they are worth.

This was the problem. End of cheap cards from then on. Now pandemic cemented people will pay anything for any card, its over.

As very accurately pointed out by @TNA I adapted and just used the tools available to pay off the asset itself, so whatever man maths people want to use the component price is irrelevant (not happy with what these units cost but hey-ho). So rejoice.. the people that helped all them years back buying titans etc this is the new status quo!

The restricted supply is bad enough but the fact so people who seem to get the FE version seem to lob it on to auction sites just makes it worse.

Soon enough we will have another launch of what will essentially be a paper product with very limited supply, this isn't exactly new but it is worse than ever.

Both to blame in the end. That said who is the enabler? No one forces them to buy, so hard to justify using the word victim.

It kind of forgets people don't just buy cards to replace working ones.
