I posted announcements from Putin, Bide, a credible journalist talking about jets going overhead etc.. This all seems like a bit of a cope because one (of the several tweets linked to) had some old footage? It was abundantly clear that attacks were taking place against military targets by then.

That was a general example of the theme of why I was posting like I was not aimed at you... not sure why you are finding it so hard to understand my posts.

You are still ignoring the second part of my post.

But generally the thrust of my posts through that period of time was not to get ahead of ourselves - not denying any attacks were taking place - as there was a huge amount of hysteria, misinformation and old videos being posted as well as actual attacks. There was several people for instance re-streaming old streams from the Israel-Palestine crisis of 2021 titled as Ukraine along with streams which possibly were of Ukraine but at that point of the night impossible to verify for sure - so I was urging some caution as to what details were correct before they were verified.

I mean if you've read my posts throughout this thread none of my position on this really needs explaining... unless you are just trying to be a dick for some reason.

I don't know what you're on about tbh... it seems more like you're being a dick here, why would I want to re-read through your posts earlier yesterday morning where you're questioning whether this was happening? I posted various sources to confirm it and now you're wanting to go back and forth about it now because one video was apparently old, despite there being various tweets including confirmation from both Putin and Biden.

Tbh.. I don't know why you're baning on about it now, the situation has changed rapidly since then.
 
I do fear if Ukraine does well in repelling the Russians it will only make things worse for them in the long run with putin resorting to more barbaric means to save face.

yep there is no victory here for the Ukraine, Putin is not a man like Hitler who will not accept defeat it's all or nothing

I wasn't questioning whether this was happening - I even said in the second part of one of the posts as you keep ignoring "What little which has been seen on live streams would tend to be consistent with ballistic missile attacks". I was talking about how much could be verified as actually happening and the details of what was being used and intentions, etc. amongst the sea of noise which went up with it.

You seem intent on latching onto the most silly, which I clearly wouldn't mean if you'd read my posts broadly, out of the possible range of what my intentions might be where my post might not be as clear as it could be rather than the most likely intention of my post and coming up with things like:

Despite I've been posting details of the attacks ongoing, one of the first to post about strikes happening and been pointing out the concerning signs leading up to it that it might be for real this time... that is being a bit of a dick really.

Quite possibly, though then he potentially causes even more problems for himself. It's not like he will necessarily achieve much that way but it is a risk! Though if he's getting into doing that then we're perhaps looking at a protracted insurgency which I doubt he wants!

Roff WTF are you on about - can you just explain clearly what point you're trying to make here? What does your earlier confusion have to do with current events?

You said you'd seen nothing to substantiate but mentioned that it did seem consistent with them... I provided multiple sources to confirm. I don't know what your point is now though.

What earlier confusion? the only confusion here is yours.

For pities sake just read both parts of for example my earlier post you've quoted and put the pieces together - as clearly my second line isn't denying strikes are taking place which in combination with the first one shows I'm just being cautious about accepting what details are fact at that point.

Explain what? there is nothing to explain if you actually did me the decency of taking the most likely interpretation of my posts in light of my general position when posting on this subject, etc. rather than the most stupid one.

Their active tank roster is approx 4000 and they can't commit all of them to this invasion.

The number you quoted includes all the junkheaps that have been sitting in warehouses since the early 90's, getting them operational again would be an absolute nightmare job as many have been cannibalised for parts and they haven't had any defensive/offensive upgrades fitted for 30+ years. They have some decent high end tanks but not enough for a proper invasion, most of the tanks they will have sent to the front lines will be inferior to what we used in Iraq 20 years ago.

This topic has come up a few times throughout the thread but something that perfectly exemplifies it is their T-90 tank, you see basic numbering would lead to the conclusion that it's newer/better than the T-80, T-72, T-64, etc. But in reality the T-90 is just a modified T-72 that adds on some of the improvements from the T-80 (the USSR built it in the late 80's because they couldn't afford to run the T-64/72/80 at the same time anymore so wanted something cheaper than a 64 but better than a 72 and with the advancements of the 80). In fact the tank was originally called the T-72BU however Russia renamed it the T-90 because advertising the fact it was a budget conscious homogenization would be bad for exports. Oh and it gets even better, the T-90 that they have been buying/building since the year 2000 is inferior to the 1990s models (when both have the latest equipment fitted) as they can't afford the 1990s model anymore so have been buying themselves the weaker export model they originally made for India.

Roff I don't particularly care about your posts from this morning and I don't know why you're banging on about them now - if you've got some point that you want to make then just make it please. I'm sure there are more interesting things that could be posted in the thread otherwise!

I'd have thought it quite clear what I want here... I'm not going to bother further with this anyhow as you are clearly just enjoying being a dick for some reason.
