Ok had to jack sound right up to hear it, I guess the fighting is much further away than last night which is good, they been pushed back.

Also yeah they need to turn that chat off, its horrible.

So, do we think this is it - that was Russia's game plan? 17 year old with no orders, ambling around aimlessly before running out of fuel.
Or is there still a possibility that their main, elite forces are still to come in a second wave?
My main worry is if it is the former, could Putin go 'full tonto' x10 to try and bring this back round somehow?

I really don't understand what he is trying to achieve in Kyiv? Even if he manages to take the city how is Russia going to hold it?
I think the original plan was to get there like yesterday and depose the current government and install his own.
Not quite working out for him so far. The longer Zelensky can hold out the better.

If Russia doesn’t pull this off soon it’s going to be hugely painful for them. Think how many weapons we’ll put into Ukraine’s hands - mostly importantly their prepared to use them.

Russia has only thrown in 50% of the stuff it had on the borders, it still has a massive military beyond that

Apparently Germany is sending 1000 anti tank missiles (presumably javelins) and 500 stinger surface to air missiles.

Not being funny, but this is going to be hell for Russia, if the west can keep supplying them with really effective kit like this.

One thing I've wondered about all these supplies, where are they actually coming from ? Current stock of NATO military supplies or surplus supplies ? Perhaps IF Putin has any plan, it's to weaken the West by making them burn all their supplies giving them to the Ukrainians

It's been confirmed as unguided Panzerfaust 3's which are far more useful for close-in city fighting with it's very short range combat.

I don't think conscripts have to sign anything :(

Something I read on twitter (take that with a grain of salt TBH) is that the "conscripts" were told they were only to be drafted for the exercise then released back to civilian life afterwards and instead they've been transfered to the "real" army for the invasion which has come to a complete shock to most of them. The story comes (allegedly) from conscripts phoning their parents etc back home to complain. Not sure how much faith I put into the story but it does match what Russia has done to conscripts/reservists before in Chechnya etc.

Most of the kit flooding in will be surplus/stock nearing end of life, as crazy as it sounds most of this kit actually has a shelf life, that stuff will be the first to be pushed to Ukraine.
I dont know what happens to weapons/ammo etc when the shelf life ends, I'd imagine its still as lethal:confused: Probably just that the manufacturer will no longer guarantee it works to spec? Probably just a money spinner for weapons companies though!

Right now putin is trying to win with the tools they hive on the ground now.

The longer this goes on at stalemate though the more desperate he will become.

If this happens he will bring in the big guns. The arsenal to level the city is already in place but not being used, lets pray they dont use them.

They start using thermobaric missiles it will be a short war.

We need to hope that the discontent in the Kremlin stops that from happening.

It is feasible that is the plan, see what the Ukrainian defences are capable of and then overwhelm them in the second wave, but I’m sure intelligence would have been released if that was the case, it’s also possible the fruit loop didn’t see the need to deploy his better troops and equipment as he didn’t think Ukraine would put up much of a fight and now is reluctant to risk loosing that high tech equipment which would leave Russia vulnerable to attack elsewhere.

In a fight I’d take a rusty knife over no knife.

I don’t know much about war, but with the Ukrainian defence going as well as it is, must surely be a huge morale booster for them.

I just hope the west can keep them supplied with decent kit, at least keep them in the game for as long as possible.
