Not sure why everyone keeps thinking that because he hasn't got a country to its knees in 5 days that he's ****** it. Its been 5 days, the country is 3 times the size of the UK!

I've already made the point that it is not likely Russia would expect a full take over of all Ukrainian territory within a few days. I don't understand why people were all "omg, 72 hours and they haven't won yet!". As I've mentioned a few times, the 2003 Iraq war took around a month before "completion"- and Ukraine is close to 50% larger than iraq.

If Russian forces encircle kiev, they could attempt to push on and bottle up resistance in a pocket.

Their first priority is probably to open a land corridor to the crimea which also gives them control of the azov sea.

Assuming the Russian armed forces are all hopeless conscripts is probably unwise.

If this is true it's bad for Ukraine:

As Konashenkov specified, 27 control points and communication centers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 38 anti-aircraft missile systems of air defense: S-300, Buk M-1 and Osa, as well as 56 radar stations were liquidated. "Only today, seven anti-aircraft missile systems have been destroyed, including one S-300 near the city of Kramatorsk. 3 Bayraktar TB-2 attack unmanned aerial vehicles were shot down in the suburbs of Chernihiv," the general said.

According to him, since the beginning of the operation, 254 tanks and other armored vehicles, 31 aircraft on the ground, 46 multiple launch rocket systems, 103 field artillery and mortars, 164 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.

But then you would think if it was true we would have seen a lot more evidence of Ukrainian losses, obviously they will have lost units but if they were losing tanks faster than Russia we should have seen more pictures or something.

Most media is controlled by the west, the general public (more so Ukraine public) need it to be made that their winning to keep the morale high. I think the media is underselling what Russia is actually doing, only time will tell and I really hope I'm wrong. But a lot of the reports don't really add up.

Eu member states are going to be providing Ukraine with stuff like Fighter jets etc.
