I’ve only based it on the constant questioning by journalists about creating a no fly zone. Usually these questions have come from public opinion but I’m jumping to that conclusion.

yea I know that, probably everyone in the West knows that.
Doesn't mean Putin and the people he surrounded himself with believe it.
Maybe they truly believe nukes are the only things keeping them safe, maybe Putin saw people getting to cosy with the west and less fearful and manufactured this whole situation to gain more of a grip on power.
Everyone just assumes he's lost the plot and suddenly stopped being calculated.
I doubt he expected pretty much the whole of the UN to turn on him though and for everyone to start piling tons of weapons into Ukraine.
surely there's a massive difference when it's Ukraine vs separatists (even if that was BS)
Now it's directly to inflict pain and suffering on Putin pretty much and challenge his position of power.
seems like a crazy game to be playing, if he backs down or loses he's pretty much done and the only life he knows will be gone.
may as well just go all out and to hell with the world

Most likely is the Russians. Probably not much else they can do right now other than put it in Bitcoin.

Sounds to me like the main squads are waiting for battle with NATO/EU forces.. the smaller teams that are getting sacrificed are there to goad the move to commit. Putin is looking for a fight with NATO/EU. This is probably why NATO/EU have been helping the Ukrainians but watching. When they commit Putin can start using unicorn rainbow buttons and show images of vapouring NATO/EU forces to anyone that doubted him.
One of the issues with nukes in Ukraine is that it provides food for many places around the world - Africa and China don't want uranium or plutonium isotopes entering their foodchains. Putin killing off the Chinese population as the isotopes go from the crops, to the feed, to the animals to the humans.
What I'd do is full the inside with IEDs and remote detonation - get one brave soldiers to drive it into the russian convoy outside Kiev and hope he can jump out and run away in time and then detonate it
yes and using depleted uranium tipped ordnance and the use of white phosphorus in civillian areas is also a war crime as it is a direct contravention of several conventions yet there are 2 countries that have used them consistently against civillian populations and in built up areas (which it is ilegal to do so) and both have escaped any form of punishment or sanction. Wonder why that is.....................

To quote a terrible tictoc meme, how would they know? Just whack a de-badged polish / other fighter pilot in there and tell him he's a Ukraine fighter pilot. If they are refueling and re-arming in Poland there's no way of ever knowing.

Chris Bryant (Labour MP) - on Peston tonight with David "easiest deal in history" Davis - again raising the question of a no-fly zone.
Have to agree with David Davis (which is a first) if a no-fly had been put in place last week before the war started then we might have got away with it but how the heck do you risk it now.
